I feel like this title is cliche, which annoys me. Alas, it suits the story. All this horse racing stuff has gotten me all inspired and I just can't help myself. Besides, I've always loved horses and I already knew quite a bit, so this shouldn't be too much of a stretch, right? XD This is *probably* going to be a short fic, I'm expecting 3-5 chapters. I am going to be starting three more stories this week, to compete with my two other ongoing fics. This should be...fun. Right?

"Luhan," Xiumin interrupted, removing his hand from Luhan's as he met the other's gaze, "We're through," he said simply.

"W-what?" Luhan's head tilted to the side, uncomprehending of the words that had just been spoken.

"I'm breaking up with you. I quit. You don't have to come see me anymore - please don't, in fact -"

"What the hell are you talking about, Minseok - Why?" the haggard face was flushed, tears of relief to tears of anger.
"You know very well why -"

"No I don't, you're going to have to tell me!"

"You don't even care, do you?" Xiumin whispered, finding he could no longer look the boy he had once thought he loved in the eye.

"About what?! You? Of course I care about you - do you know how worried I was -"

"I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT ME!" he yelled and Luhan jumped slightly, pulling back in shock from the boy who had always been reserved and polite in most every situation, "I'm talking about Disraelian - you know, the one who just won you the eight hundred grand purse? The one who died in pain in the dirt and mud? The one you insisted would be fine when I begged you not to race her!" Luhan gaped at him, mouth opening and closing before finally -

"I'm sorry."

"Sorry doesn't bring her back."
