The Ordinary Life

Description

Song Ha Eun.

A past with the Big Bang boys.

What would the future bring? Will their lives intersect or run in parallels again?

Foreword

Song Ha Eun had no idea how it happened but there she was, standing in a lift with her hands full with two cartons of bottled water. She wasn’t sure if a girl should really be assigned such work but she was standing in for a guy so there wasn’t really much choice.

“Okay, here we are,” Jun Seo said, his arms also laden with cartons of water. “Again, I’m so sorry you had to come in like this but you can be rest assured that the pay is good and it’ll all be worth it."

Ha Eun followed him out of the lift and tried to keep pace with the man’s long strides. Jun Seo was her neighbor and they had just met earlier that year but had gotten on like a house on fire. He had called in a panic-stricken voice this morning begging for Ha Eun to accept a last-minute part-time job.

“It’s funny how you thought of me when what you really need is a guy – a strong guy!” Ha Eun groaned as she adjusted the load in her arms. “And I learnt of your occupation for the very first time.”

“People think it’s glamorous to work with the stars,” Jun Seo huffed as he too adjusted his load. “But most of the time, it is long hours with lots of manual work. I’ve just started out so I can’t complain. There are people here who don't get to see their family for weeks at a time when the stars go on their World Tour.”

The duo finally arrived at the dressing room and the manager immediately directed them to a corner to unload the water. He smiled kindly at Ha Eun before handing her a bottle of water. “Thanks for coming in and take a quick break. I heard from Jun Seo that you came to help readily even though you had no idea what this was. He really shouldn’t have asked such a pretty girl like you to carry such a heavy load. Welcome to YG Family Concert.”

Ha Eun took her cap off and bowed before accepting the drink. “Thanks for having me, I had nothing to do anyway.” She slumped down on a chair nearby and took a big gulp of the refreshing water. She observed how dressers and make-up artists bustled around the singers as they prepared for the big show later tonight.

Kwon Jiyong, or G-Dragon, was adjusting his ear-piece while a dresser straightened his shirt. Choi Seunghyun, or TOP, was just getting the final touches done to his face. Kang Daesung was seated quietly at a sofa, plugged into his iPod. Lee Seunghyun, or Seungri, was the chattiest one, busy taking photos with the dancers. And there was Dong Youngbae, or Taeyang, who was just fidgeting – restlessly waiting for the concert to start.

No one noticed the girl in black, with hair pulled back into a low ponytail, who was just lounging on the chair observing them. Jun Seo was going around handing drinks out to the singers. Ha Eun smiled as she saw his enthusiasm as the newest crew member and laughed silently when Jun Seo awkwardly told Jiyong to wait as he had ran out of water.

“Ha Eun, give this to Jiyong please,” the manager had also noted the shortage and handed her the bottle to take. She hesitated a moment, but took it from the man. Ha Eun only meant to hand it over to Jun Seo but he squeezed past saying he had to get coffee for TOP.

When she finally reached Jiyong’s side, she held the bottle out. Jiyong took it and mumbled his thanks with a cursory glance. Ha Eun had already turned to go but that one glance was enough to make Jiyong stop and take a closer look again. His jaw slackened as he watched her retreating back.

“Ha Eun…?” Jiyong breathed and stepped away from his minders. “Ha Eun ah!”

Running after her, Jiyong caught Youngbae’s and Seunghyun’s attention. “Ha Eun!”

She turned slowly as Jiyong finally reached her.

“Annyeong,” Ha Eun said finally with a smile spreading across her face. “Now might not be a good time to talk since you’re expected on stage in just a few minutes.”

Jiyong stared agape at her, not quite believing his eyes. Youngbae and Seunghyun had joined him at the doorway now.

“Ha Eun, will you stay?” Youngbae asked as he walked up to her slowly. Ha Eun pulled her cap back on again with a smalll smile as the Concert Manager called for Big Bang to stand by.
