Description
Highschool AU where Chanyeol doesn't have, want, or need anyone to help him, but maybe that unwanted person comes in the form of the strange, intelligent boy in his literature class named Jongin, along with his "deliquent" friends - who may just become the best friends Chanyeol ever has.

This fic is inspired by J.D Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye.
You don't have to know an extensive bit about the novel to understand the fic, imo. Anytime I talk about the novel in the fic, I generally explain the reference in an author's note, and by chapter 8, the talks about the novel (which was really just used to set a frame) are considerably slimmer.
If you've read the book, no Chanyeol's character wasn't inspired by Holden Caufield haha.
If you're not into panic attacks, mild drug use, sad home life, (latter two being minor aspects of plot), and just general angst/psychological fics, then this perhaps isn't for you. I defs understand; we all have those things that we shouldn't read. (mine is character death why the hell do i ever read that)
