May I Mark Your Heart?
Description
“I heard what you said. I’m not the silly romantic you think. I don’t want the heavens or the shooting stars. I don’t want gemstones or gold. I have those things already. I want…a steady hand. A kind soul. I want to fall asleep, and wake, knowing my heart is safe. I want to love, and be loved.”
—Shana Abe
Foreword
Everyone desires love, claiming it makes them whole, but I oppose. Love does the exact opposite. It cracks you open, leaving you in jagged pieces that no one would dare touch because they're afraid of getting cut. The four letter words make us fearful creatures that we become afraid of one another.
I, May, promise to not involve myself with childish play. I will wait for Mr. Right to prance his way to me as I live to love myself for the time being. Everyone can be falling in love while I don't mind falling asleep.
