Married To My Boss
Epilogue
Kris looked around his backyard and took in the sight of his friends and family enjoying themselves on his kids' birthday party. Yes, you heard it right. Kids... which is a plural for kid. Don't get him wrong, the man impregnated his wife once since they got married two and a half years ago, but his seeds decided that planting two at once would be the best gift for him. Again, not to get him mistaken, Kris feels blessed with those two angels - sometimes devils, he mentally added - but being a parent for the first time is not easy for the young CEO, what more having twins as his first heir.
His eyes then caught sight of Luhan lifting his one year old daughter into the air, making her giggle in delight at the feeling of being bounced in the air. Tao and Kyungsoo, who stood at each side of the proud father, laughed delightedly at her expression and joined in on making her laugh more. Kris eyes shifted to where his parents was. A small smile made its way to his face as he saw his mother cooing at his second son, bouncing him on her lap at the garden table while his grandfather watched with a content smile. Seeing the smile on the man's face reminded him of his grandfather who had left a year ago, and he fought back the heavy feeling in his chest at the thought of the old man.
At least he met Aaron and Aiden before he left, he thought and sighed softly to himself.
"Hey..." Kris turned and smiled when he saw Suho approaching him. "What are you doing here all alone?" the younger asked as he stood next to him.
"Just... looking around." Kris replied as his eyes continued to scan his surroundings. Kyungsoo eating cake with Tao, Liyin walking over to Luhan with a bottle, Chanyeol and Baekhyun arguing about the cake's decoration- Wait, what? Kris rolled his eyes at the two before turning back to Suho. "Yep, just looking around."
Suho chuckled and took a sip of apple juice, letting a delighted 'Aah' sound after he swallowed. "I can't believe it."
"What?"
"Your kids are growing up so fast."
Kris raised a brow at this. "Shouldn't that be my line?" he asked. Suho shrugged carelessly before looking around for his wife. She stood glowing by the gift table with her stomach bulging forward, talking to Naeun who was carrying a newborn baby in her arms, Chen, his fiancé, and Xiumin. "I understand what you meant about the glow now, Kris." he suddenly uttered.
"Glow? What glow?" The CEO looked confused before following Suho's gaze and realisation hits him. "Ahh, that glow. Yeah, it's beautiful isn't it?" he asked and Suho nodded with a smile. "How are you feeling? Three weeks till the tummy pops, daddy."
Suho glanced at Kris and chuckled when Kris shrugged in response. "I'm ready," he said confidently. "God, I'm so ready. I can't wait till Seunghwan arrives."
Kris nodded in understanding. "That's what I said too." Until I realised how much sleep I lost. But Kris decided to keep that for himself in order not to scare the soon to be father. "How's Yoonji handling the pregnancy?" he asked.
"Uhh... okay, I guess." the other answered. "But she's excited, that's for sure. Sure, she nags a lot more and throw fits more than enough times on regular occasions but hey... the is awesome."
The experienced father laughed at this. "I know what you mean, man."
Kris recalled the first few months Haru was pregnant with the twins. She had mood swings on occasions but at most times, she was calm. But it all changed the moment they got to bed. If he's lucky, the wife would be so that it tires him instead but at times, she'd lead him on and left him hanging when she fell asleep. Still, the man understood considering the fact that she had a one plus one baggage to carry around and it tires her out very easily.
Thinking about his wife made him realise that he hasn't seen her for ever since they cut the birthday cake two hours ago and he excused himself from his colleague to find her. He stepped into his double storey modern home and went straight to the kitchen where he last saw her, stopping twice to exchange words with Taemin and fist bumped Kai and Sehun on his way. Instead of finding Haru, Kris found a senior Haru instead, chatting up with Tao's girlfriend by the counter.
"Hey mom," he greeted her and gave the younger girl an acknowledging nod once Hanna had turned to him. "Have you seen Haru?" he asked.
"She went upstairs with Aaron just a while ago," the elder replied. "He's being a bit cranky today. He must still feel the after effect from his fever. "
Kris sighed and thanked his mother-in-law before walking out the kitchen doorway and headed for the stairs. "Yifan!" he heard his name and turned to see Liyin walking in with Aiden in her arm and Naeun tagging along behind her. The little boy smiled merrily at the sight of his father when he spotted him and he bent down to kiss his chubby cheeks. "Where's Haru?" his cousin asked.
"Upstairs with Aaron," he replied. "I'll go check on them first. Need me to take him off your hands?" he asked but Liyin shook her head. Kris nodded and quickly darted up the stairs before the women even left. Just as he reached the twins' bedroom, he heard crying and quietly opened the door to see Haru standing nearby Aaron's cot, her back facing him. She was rocking him in her arms as she tried to shush him but Aaron continued to wail.
"Baobei?" he called and Haru turned around to face him. Immediately, he saw the tiredness in her features and the u
