Description

An alliance between two nations could it also be the bud of new love? After many losses, many moments of despair, could this couple truly come to love each other?

Princess Jung Myung Hee only wanted to bring her family honor.

Emperor Xi Luhan only wanted to fulfill his deceased fathers wishes.

Could they do that and bring themselves peace of mind and happiness.

Princess Jung Myung Hee:

Daughter of the king. She was the first born child in her family. Although she is only seventeen she is ready to bring her family honor. She is not your ordinary princess though. She didn't grow up learning filial duty and how to do everyday activities a normal noble woman of the era would learn. Instead she grew up looking at battle strategies, reading many books, learning the chinese language, studying Confucius ideas, and learning proverbs. She was a very intelligent girl for her age but in all the wrong things which her father regretted.

Emporer Xi Luhan:

Becoming the emperor of China was something he was raised to do. He was the first born male of his family, he was born to be king. After his father died it was stated in his will that he was to form a marriage alliance with Korea by marrying on of the kings daughters. Although he is seven years older than his bride it was something he expected to happen and in order to bring honor to his fathers name and bring him peace in the afterlife he was willing to go through with the proposal.

Kim Jongin:

Saved by Myunghee when he was younger allowed him to be by her side since they were little but when war tore them apart things were never to be the same again.

A coincidence is destined by heaven.

Side characters:

Jung Gaeul : Princess Myung Hee's sixteen year old sister who is her bestfriend. Grew up as the perfect daughter for the Jung family and is everything you could ask for in a daughter.

Xi Zitao: Brother of the emperor and youngest son of the Xi family. He is five years older than his new sister inlaw.

Zhang Yixing: Luhan and Zitao's nomad cousin whom has some unfinished buisness with Princess Jung Gaeul.

Chapter 36: Some things are cleared but yet not lol. I think I need to reread it to understand. So Sohee and the King and the late Queen all love each other very much in some harmonious love triangle? But the queen has some secret magic power too maybe. And the king can only see pasts....? And I totally did no understand everything after that.

I might try to reread...like I did with Vampire Knight...because Vampire Knight was also a confusing read to me. Maybe it's because it was somewhat political...and has some conspiracy in additional to some conflicts in terms of romance. But this one is not really political in nature...though the whole seeker and red string supernatural/superpower thing is a little bit confusing.

So Yixing hasn't quite seen fate and that's a good sign? It's a bad sign when he can see his and Gauel's future? The king is afraid of that. As for why he doesn't want the older girl to be queen yet he still made her marry the emperor...that's the part that confuses me. And the King can only see the past, I don't see how he can predict his daughter's future in any way. The motives of the King are still unclear to me.

The new Queen was just following her friend's instructions. So between her late friend and the king, she loves her friend more. That just makes me think the late Queen knew or could predict her fate and her daughter's fate. She probably has some mysterious power, I wonder why she wanted a male heir...or how she knew it'd even be a male heir.
