Just Friends?

YURA’S POV

“Oppa’s such a nice guy.”Eunji whispered.

“Neh~ He is.”I smiled. *looks at Sungjong’s stuff toy* Oh yeah! Speaking of souvenirs, I bought something for Myungsoo.

-FLASHBACK-

I glanced at every stall we pass through and a keychain caught me. “Wow~ Yeppuda!”

“You want it? I’ll buy it for you.”Woohyun offered.

“Andwae. I’ll buy it and give it as a gift to someone.”

“Hmm…who?”

*chuckles*“No need for you to know.”

“Ohmm..okay.”

-END OF FLASHBACK-

“Oppaa!”I ran towards Myungsoo.

“Hmm?”He looked back.

*giggles*“Oppa! I saw this one yesterday when I was shopping with Woohyun oppa. It reminds me of you, so I bought it. Here.” I flashed a camera-shaped keychain in front of his face.

Gladly, he took it and smiled. “Thanks!” He rubbed the back of his neck.

“Heehee~ No problem oppa.” I smiled widely.

“Yura-sshi! Let’s go!” Sungjong called.

“Mm~” I thinned my lips and nodded once.

…

Sungjong asked me to help him carry his gifts for Mina. I carried the huge teddy bear he bought and followed him as he search for Mina.

“Yah! Sungjonggie! Where’s Mina? I look like a babo carrying this bear.” I whined.

“Stop whining~ She said she’s at the school’s field sitting on the benches.”

“Hmp.” I blew my fringe as I hug the teddy bear.

It was hard for me to see where I was going because there’s a huge teddy bear in front of me.Aish.“Aw!” Oops. I think I stepped on somebody’s foot.I moved the bear slightly to my left to see who I bumped. “Mianhae~” I bowed.“I didn’t see you there.”

“Gwenchana.” She smiled and walked away.

Phew~ Good thing she didn’t get angry. Hmmm..now where’s Sungjonngie? *looks for Sungjong* Ah! There~ Uwah!! He’s so far away *grins*“Sungjonggie!!” I ran towards him.

I placed my right hand over his shoulder as I panted for air. “Sungjonggie!” I shaked his shoulder. He wasn’t responding. He was spaced out, staring blankly on something… or someone?  I looked at his eyes and looked at where he was staring. As I set my eyes on his direction… Is that Mina? I looked at Sungjonggie with a worried face. But who’s the guy with him? And why is she leaning on his shoulder?

My attention all went to Sungjonggie. I’m worried for my best friend. I stared at him and noticed that his eyebrows are slowly crinkling. *drops his gifts and runs away* “Sungjonggie!” I was left there dumbfounded trying to pick up all the gifts.

I knelt on the ground and let out a loud sigh. I closed my eyes and covered my face with my hands.

“Need a help?”

Eh? Upon uncovering my face, I saw Myungsoo picking up the scattered gifts.

“Do you mind telling me what happened?”

“Well…” I glanced at where Mina is. “That!”

“Mina?!”

“Mm.” I nodded.

“W-w-wait. I know that guy.”

“You do?! What’s his name?”

“His name is Minwoo. He’s one of the star football players here.”

“Really? How come I don't notice him? Wait, are you close friends with him?"

“Yeah, he is..and molla. We're not friends. I don’t have friends.”

“Ughh..yes you do.”

“I don’t.” He said with a blank expression.

“I’m here and I’m glad to be your friend.”

His lips curled to a smile.

“And also Sungjonggie, Woohyun oppa, Hoya, and many more. Oppa, you have so many friends so why tell me you have none?”

“Uhh..It’s just that I don’t feel that I have one. Every time I’m going out with ‘friends’, I always isolate from them. It feels that I’m always alone.”

“Oppa, you were never alone.” I smiled.“You shouldn’t go by yourself always. Be social. If you need a friend, I’m always available. I can be your best friend, if you want”

“That’ll be great.”He smiled, this time wider.“Are you hungry?”

“Neh.”

“Let’s eat dinner. My treat!”

“Sure.” I hugged the huge teddy bear and walked with Myungsoo to a restaurant nearby. *giggles* We’re like a couple. He’s carrying gifts and I’m hugging a huge teddy bear that looks like a gift from him. Ohhh….life, how I wish you’ll always be this way.

MYUNGSOO’S POV

“Uhh..It’s just that I don’t feel that I have one. Every time I’m going out with ‘friends’, I always isolate from them. It feels that I’m always alone.”

“Oppa, you were never alone.” I smiled.“You shouldn’t go by yourself always. Be social. If you need a friend, I’m always available. I can be your best friend, if you want”

What if I don’t want us to be o n l y best friends?
