There are many ways for a student to bring their grades up.

Befriending a stranger wandering through your mind is not one of them.

In the past few weeks, Jongin has been studying the Method of Loci, a technique that allows one to build a mental place of refuge: a mind palace. The technique was meant to help him concentrate, efficiently store information and improve his grades.

Then one day, he makes acquaintances with a boy who seems lost in the city that Jongin created in his mind. As they grow closer, Jongin’s convinced that he’s going insane. Average high school seniors don’t make up imaginary friends anymore, right?

But what if the boy isn’t as imaginary as Jongin thinks he is?

Foreword

"They may all be unique but to most of us, raindrops look identical. You don’t really notice them individually, until a single one decides to fall into the eye you’re trying to see with, or on the cigarette you were just about to smoke. It’s probably the same with people in the world."

"What if every raindrop is trying to convey a personal message? It could be a cry for help, a message of joy, a warning, anything really. But instead of trying to listen, people carry umbrellas, newspapers and other items over their heads in an attempt to keep themselves dry. To shield themselves from what’s going on around them."

People are born to be loved... not understood.

Dear Readers...

Welcome to Common Ground! As some of you might know, I'm currently working on a huge co-authored piece called Eosophobia. This story, which is more of a personal side-project, was supposed to be a one-shot, but things spun out of control and I decided to make this chaptered anyway ~(>u<)~

Here I'm sitting and hoping my writing has improved somewhat since Scratch Marks. Hmm...

Anyway, please enjoy! And feel free to let me know what you think ^_~
