My name is Seo Joo-hyun. I was born in Seoul on June 28, 1991. I am the youngest member of the girl group Girls’ Generation. Since our debut in 2007, I have discovered a lot of new things about this industry and about life as well. When we just starting as a group, a lot of my unnies always scolding me for being too upright sometimes and they keep saying that sometimes I have to learn to loosen up a bit and I think I am progressing a lot looking at the state that I am now. People keep saying that I show more aegyo now and all of my unnies are happier with me, they keep saying that I can have fun with them without any drama or problem at all. In the industry that I am working in, there are a lot of positives and negatives aspect of it. Of course I understand that it comes with the territory and now that I am on my 7^th years in the business, I know it quite well that I have to learn the positives side of it and adjust myself with the negativity that comes with it. Generally our fans did not go overboard in showing their love to us but of course there is always that one person that might different from the others, just like that time when Taeyeon unnie almost got kidnapped on the stage. Since we debuted, I always keep a diary with me whenever I go. I always try to fill it up whenever I can but every time there is something interesting happened, I always write it down in my diary.

It is the beginning of March 2014 and our group is making a comeback in Korea with our newest single, ‘Mr.Mr.’ Maybe because there are a lot of problems in the preparation of our comeback, that day when I was recording Guerilla Date with the unnies, I am a little bit more sensitive than usual. Usually I never show it, even when the camera is off because I don’t want people to think about it the wrong way. But that night, we are just finishing the filming of Guerilla Date. As usual our fans are singing our songs, chanting our names and some of them want to give gifts for us. But that night…I notice something rather different…someone is different. Amongst the crowd, I can see someone wearing the hat that I am wearing during our I Got A Boy promotion. I am curious about this person that is wearing this hat and mask that almost cover his/her face completely. I can’t tell from the clothes whether this is a guy or a girl and this person is also wearing eyeglasses, so I can’t identify the gender or the face at all. This person only stands there, not singing, not chanting or screaming or even look excited at all. This person just stare at me with the sharpest look that I ever seen beneath that eyeglasses.

Curious, I try to approach this person. Even though I am tired and a little bit sensitive that day, I try my best to smile and I want to shake this person’s hand, hoping to get a reaction but instead of a reaction, all I got is the view of this person’s back and within seconds this person disappeared from the crowd of people in front of me. I was shocked, dejected and for the first time, I think I show my disgusted face in front of the fans and making some of them worried that they are doing something wrong to me. I fix my facial expression and I shake some of their hands to make sure that everything is alright. Since that day, I can’t stop thinking about that person, of course at that time I don’t know why I am destined to meet that person but our meeting changed my whole perspective about life. Love, hate, happiness, sadness…I experienced it all since our meeting.
