This is a modern setting with kingdoms and royalty, so it's not exactly a medieval!AU. Every country has their own Royal Castle which is located in the capital and all the royalty reside in the castle. There is no South Korea and North Korea, it's just Korea. And in BIR's Korea, spouse searches are quite common if a Prince or Princess does not have someone they want to marry.

EDIT 09/2016: Over the summer, I read through all of BIR and edited a few parts that I felt were not well wrapped up in the ending. There weren't any changes to the plot, but I took out Taoris' arc because I never properly finished it and I cut out a few paragraphs here and there that felt out-of-place. It was interesting looking back at how my writing changed, and hopefully you will enjoy the new and improved BIR, too!
