Petrichor
is a word constructed from greek, pretos, meaning stone
and ichor being the fluid that flows in the veins of the gods in Greek mythology.
It's definied as "the distinctive scent which accompanies the first rain",
it now means the scent of rain on dry earth;
the scent of dust after rain.
Foreword
“Hey.” Came a hushed whisper beside her.
She turned her head to the side and her eyes immediately snapped up to meet his. She raised her eyebrows in question as he leaned closer until their faces were less than eight inches apart.
“You won’t tell anyone what happened right?” He asked, tone serious.
“What do you mean?”
He sighed. “What you saw, you know – I fell.”
She had to hold in her laughter for the second time that day. “You mean you slipped and fell.”
His eyebrows twitched.
And she swore that the pink that dusted his cheeks was not her imagination.
She wasn’t able to stop herself from laughing the third time.
