“I didn’t know that you love her!” Yunho insisted, trying to get his younger brother to look at him. But Changmin kept pushing him away.

And it was breaking Yunho’s heart.

He couldn’t stand having Changmin so mad at him like this.

“That isn’t the point, hyung!” Changmin shouted angrily. “The point is that you hurt her! I would have quite happily stepped aside for you! Because you were the one that was making her happy! Because you were the one that she wanted! But look at what you did! You just used her to cover up your relationship with Jaejoong hyung!”

Changmin couldn’t believe that Yunho would do something this hurtful to him and to Erin.

“I didn’t mean to hurt her, Changmin!” Yunho pleaded for Changmin to understand. “Our father was already getting suspicious about why I never brought home a girlfriend for him to meet! You know how much he is against homouality! He’d have been goddamn furious if he found out about me and Jae!”

“That doesn’t excuse what you did to her!” Changmin hissed. “Do you know how heartbroken she is right now, hyung?! Do you?!”

“I’m not trying to excuse myself! I’m just trying to make you see why I did it!”

“I would never be able to understand what would make you do something so cruel to somebody who’d always been good and admiring towards you! And I would also never be able to understand how you can keep your relationship with Jaejoong hyung hidden like that! You even had someone to be your cover-up girlfriend! Are you that ashamed of him?”

“I’m not ashamed of Jaejoong!” Yunho now shouted angrily. How dare his brother accuse him of that? “I love him!”

“Then you should have just stood up for your relationship in the first place! But you didn’t! And you know why that is? It was because you’re a goddamn coward!” Changmin spat the last word at his hyung’s face.

All his respect and love for Yunho had vanished the horrible moment Changmin had learned of his scheme.

Yunho couldn’t deny the truth in Changmin’s words. “I am,” he whispered, looking down as tears started to fall from his eyes. “I am a coward. I am…”

Changmin just looked at him coldly. “From now on, I want you to stay away from Erin. You’ve caused her enough pain. I’m not letting you hurt her any more than you already have…”

Yunho just nodded.

“And…” Changmin paused, before continuing quietly, “I also want you to forget that you have a brother from now on.”

Yunho’s head jerked up.

“Changmin-!” he whispered brokenly. “Changmin, you can’t-! You can’t-!”

“Don’t tell me what I can and cannot do, Yunho,” Changmin replied. Yunho didn’t miss how he didn’t even bother to use ‘hyung’ anymore. And it crushed him even more. “As far as I’m concerned, the brother I had known and respected so much would never use and hurt a girl that way. Nor would he also hurt his own best friend and lover just to save his face in his father’s eyes.”

And with that, Changmin walked away and left the room.

Left Yunho.
