A young man extended his hands widely; as if wanting to embrace the thin air… the soft breeze of the blue ocean gently caressing his extra pale and soft skin. He closed his eyes in a failed attempt to erase the pain he was feeling.

“If you make a wish to the ocean… if you wish it with so much strength… it might come true,” his companion had said, inviting him to do so.

He didn’t move. He just stayed there, wanting to disappear with the breeze and fusion himself with the soft waves that were now becoming violent, demanding, or maybe happy and excited.

A wish… was there something he wanted to wish? Money? No, he was millionaire and money was useless. Love? He chuckled. He didn’t even have time for that. Family? Friends?

The young man bit his lower lip as he felt tears forming in his eyes. What could he wish to the vast ocean? How could he do so? Did he have the right to?

“I… I have nothing to offer more than my own pain…” he cried, unable to continue because of the sharp pain that pierced his chest.
