Nana. The quiet girl. The religious girl. The plain girl. The bullied girl. 

Nana was very conservative. She didn't wear flashy clothing. She didn't swear or use curse words. This led to everybody at her school targeting her. Her, of all people. Didn't they know whAt her home life was like already? And now they dump this crap on her. Bullying. Did they know what kind of weight they were putting on her? No, of course they didn't. They only ever thought about themselves. Note the past tense.

Nana's mother was very religious. She and her daughter would sit together and pray for two hours each evening. She took religious beliefs to the extreme. In fact, her daughter was a mistake. She had murdered her husband after he had taken her ity. She had tried to kill her daughter, too, but loved her too much. 

When Nana's life begins to take a turn for the worse, can her mother handle it? Can SHE handle it?
