IronyIt was no sooner than Sehun had opened his locker that Taeyeon was next to him, tugging on his arm, speaking through her nose, and leaning her head on his shoulder in the most annoying way possible. As soon as her perfume hit my nose, I closed my locker and turned to leave. I ended up almost face-planting in Jongin’s back when I did that, however, and I gave him a confused look. He didn’t look like he was about to move out of a three-foot radius from Sehun any time soon, so I moved to go around him when Tao appeared and blocked the way.
“Where did you find him?” he asked.
On my other side, Taeyeon continued to pester everyone’s existence, but mostly Sehun’s.
“Why didn’t you call? Or text?” she begged to know. “Where were you?”
He busied himself with sorting some papers (probably the notes Jongin had given him) and shrugged at his girlfriend, saying he had been busy. She let out a small whine, tugging on his sleeve.
“You couldn’t have called? I was worried.” She pouted. “And what happened to your face?”
Looking away from Sehun when that question was asked, I exchanged a glance with Jongin. I needed to find a way out. Attempting to push Tao out of the way, he only moved in closer.
Jongin shrugged Tao’s insistent grabbing off. “He was in Busan,” he answered.
“What for?” Tao continued to ask.
“It’s nothing,” Sehun answered.
Jongin glared at Tao, pushing him to go away as he watched Sehun. I looked for a way to push the two of them out of my way so I could get by and out of the mess. Sehun continued to act like Taeyeon wasn’t even there.
She persistently tugged at his sleeve again. “Will you please look at me for a second? I’ve missed you—”
I think the whole school might’ve flinched when Sehun slammed his hand into the locker and rounded on Taeyeon.
“Will you get off of me?” he shouted. “If you missed me so much, then you shouldn’t have been running around screwing someone else!”
Taeyeon gasped. So did Tao. Mine and Jongin’s jaws dropped and across the hall I saw Baekhyun’s whole face widen as his mouth dropped open. He looked like he had seen the devil.
“W-what?” Taeyeon sputtered, looking up at Sehun with round eyes.
Sehun’s balled up fists were trembling. “Don’t play innocent, Taeyeon. I’m not an idiot!” He stepped closer to her, ears turning red in anger. “You’re still skipping class when I’m not; you’re always shopping with Yoona!” He reached for the collar of her shirt and yanked on it. “You’ve have hickeys pretty much all the time and I know I’m not the one giving them to you!”
At that moment, Luhan stepped up and grabbed Sehun’s arm. “Stop shouting in her face,” he said, seemingly trying to calm the situation. Not a moment later did Jongin move forward, almost blocking my view of the whole situation.
“You get your hands off me.” Sehun scoffed. “If you’re going to screw my girlfriend, at least have a little class about it. I saw the bracelet in your car. Is a car seat really the best you can do?”
Tao and I looked between the three of them, jaws still hanging open. Baekhyun looked terrified, plastering himself against one of the lockers.
Luhan gave a half-hearted chuckle. “Well, apparently, you weren’t giving it to her. So somebody had to.” He shrugged, one side of his lips resting in a smirk.
Sehun moved so swiftly that Jongin missed him entirely.
“You !”
Sehun pinned Luhan against one of the lockers, sending Baekhyun flying in my direction. He planted himself firmly behind me and Tao. Jongin tried to pull Sehun off.
“Sehun, you can’t get in trouble!” he tried to reason with him.
Luhan laughed in Sehun’s face. “It’s not my fault you couldn’t please your girlfriend,” he said. “You wouldn’t even try, she said. Tsk, tsk. Too bad, so sad.” Hearing the sick humor in his voice, even I wanted to punch him.
Sehun raised his fist to punch him and Taeyeon finally moved.
“Stop it! Don’t hit him!”
With both Jongin and Taeyeon pulling on his arms, Sehun reluctantly let go of Luhan and took a step back. Within another second, he rounded on her while Luhan straightened out his rumpled uniform.
“What is wrong with you? Don’t you have any self respect? At all?” he asked. “And any respect for me?”
She raised an eyebrow. “How could I have any respect for either of us if you never had any?” she countered.
Sehun looked astonished. “Me?”
“All your self-hatred talk honestly had me so depressed—not to mention it was a total mood killer,” she sighed, flicking her hair off her shoulder.
My ears perked up at that and I caught a look cross Sehun’s face and move to Jongin’s. One of realization. And I wonder
