IronyMonday, I walked into the school in a manner as if the walls held bombs that could be set off just by me breathing. Everyone was acting normal, except for me. They were all chatting when I entered the gates and no one paid me any attention just like any other Monday morning. What they were chatting about, however, was not normal Monday chitchat.
Was Oh Sehun going to show up today? Everyone wanted to know. I needed to know; my life was on the line here. Apparently he wasn’t expelled, but he hadn’t shown up for school Friday. He could’ve just taken an early weekend, but no one knew for sure except for the ones that I had no plans in talking to. Luhan, Kai, Chanyeol, and some dude stood around the lockers when I got there. Fortunately, they ignored me and continued their conversation.
“Has anyone studied for the test we’re supposed to have?” Chanyeol asked, arms crossed as he leaned against the lockers.
The dude raised his hands. “I did,” he stated.
Luhan raised his hand for a highfive. “I can always count on you, Baekhyun.”
I made a face at my locker. Ah, yes, Byun Baekhyun. Missing member of the Douchebag Clan, handsome jerk, talented hottie, wealthy brat. Why wouldn’t he be hanging out with these guys? I wondered why he wasn’t around more than just a few times a week. I opened my locker and set my stuff inside, still listening, trying to hear word on Oh Sehun.
Baekhyun laughed. “I’m just kidding. I got that idiot Kim Taehyung to give me his notes,” he said, highfiving Luhan anyways. I scowled at his words, feeling so bad for Taehyung. “Thanks for the tip, Chanyeol,” Baekhyun added, patting the taller guy on the back.
I could see Chanyeol grin in the small mirror I had attached to my locker door. “He wanted on the team, those were my requirements,” he said and Luhan laughed.
My fists clenched at my side. Why did they have to treat everyone like dirt? Fed up, I slammed my locker and turned, glaring at the males behind me. Byun Baekhyun grinned at me while the others stared at me uninterestedly. I rolled my eyes at them before taking off for my class. On my way, I heard talk of Oh Sehun but nothing of his whereabouts. Come on, now, I know you are not that bothered by getting in trouble, Oh Sehun. Surely, he wouldn’t switch schools over such a small thing.
I didn’t escape the Sehun talk in my classes. In English class, two girls were using their limited English to discuss the whole event from the previous week; in Science I heard a few girls debating who would get a chance with him once he and Taeyeon called it quits; then I heard two guys praise him for skipping class to get some. I heard a bit more detail than I wanted from the guys about Taeyeon – so much that I didn’t have an appetite when lunch rolled around, I ended up just going to the quad and organizing my backpack.
