IAM Island

Description

It was odd when IAMs around the world were invited to the first ever idol/artist getaway trip, but they weren’t complaining. Who would pass up the chance to travel to an island with your favorite Korean idols? This overnight trip turns out to be a lot more than expected when 2AM and 50 of their fans are left stranded without any means of getting back.

Foreword

The feeling she felt when she first saw the island was one of quiet wonder, quite a contrast to the screams of excitement coming from the other females (and the occasional male) disembarking from the same plane she had just gotten off moments before. It was a small island, but that didn’t make it any less beautiful. The sand was soft and warm, almost purely white in color. The ocean water was a clear blue, something most of those getting off the plane had never seen before. There was a clear path leading through the forest of tropical trees, plants, and wildlife to the center of the island, where a large beach house or resort rested. The island was still, not a sound to be heard but the squeals of the new arrivals.

The girl’s name was Ally, and she, like the others on the island, were chosen to be a part of the first ever fan/artist getaway. Lucky fans from all over the globe were whisked off to a tropical paradise to spend the night with their favorite band. It took two jets to fit all of the fans, and one jet contained the band itself. Ally’s plane, to the dismay of all on board, was not the lucky jet carrying the band to the island, leaving those who flew on it to excitedly await the arrival of the second plane.

Luckily for them, it didn’t take long. Ear-piercing screams exploded from the crowd as a plane was spotted landing on the island. In one short moment, the herd of those who got off the first plane began sprinting in desperation to reach the other side of the island where the second plane had landed. Ally whipped around, watching the others run past her before a huge smile broke off on her face, her legs beginning to move as fast as they could take her to the other side. Her boys were waiting for her, after all! Their boys…

Feeling her brown hair flowing messily behind her, Ally forced her legs to pump harder to catch up with the crowd. Blocking out the squeals of those around her, Ally closed her eyes and brought her arms up and began running faster, the image of the four boys waiting for her becoming clearer and clearer until it was her reality, and she could make out figures on the steps of the plane, gazing sheepishly at the crowd around them, and suddenly Ally felt as if she couldn’t breathe.

The most noticeable boy was not only the tallest, but also the youngest of the four. His dark brown hair was swept over his forehead, although this wasn’t the slightest distraction from his jaw-dropping eye-smile he was ever so well known for. He was laughing, probably at the enthusiasm the fans possessed, and whispering to the older boy next to him. Said older boy had dark hair that would have been called black if not for the sun shining on it. It had grown longer, but not as long as the younger one’s hair. His large eyes were smiling politely, his gaze cast down almost uncomfortably to his feet, looking to be a little nervous. Although evident to be older than the youngest, they stood on the same step at eye level with one another. It was surprising that the smallest there was the one who attracted the most attention. His dark hair was spiked all over in such a fashion that must have been driving the fangirls crazy. He seemed aware of this fact, however, and had his hand raised and waving to the crowd with a polite and amused smile on his face. With ever wave of his hand, the crowd of fans seemed to get more and more excited. His popularity was evident. It all seemed so perfect, but Ally wasn’t satisfied. Someone was missing.

Ally forced herself to shut off her nerves and have her feet continue walking towards the crowd. The more she thought about the missing member, the greater the worry deep in her stomach became. Her speed increased and she blindly ran to the edges of the crowd and attempted to jump up to look. As the members began to descend off the stairs, the crowd began to shift and push backwards. Completely unaware, Ally was shoved backwards onto the sand. She groaned, sitting up as the squealing girls parted around her as the members began to walk through, the smallest announcing that they should all bring their bags to the resort and settle in. Ally, star-struck, stood up slowly and began to follow the crowd, when another wave of girls smashed past her. She, once again, was shoved into the sand, this time face first.

“Ow! What the heck?” Ally hissed, pushing her palms into the sand to lift her face off the beach. She remained on her stomach, spitting the sand that landed in out onto the beach. She leaned up on her elbows and rubbed her eyes, attempting to get the sand out. She heard the sound of a man speaking Korean around her and then just as suddenly as she heard it, all was silent. Ally’s breath caught deep in as she recognized it easily. A string of curses rang through her head, but she remained silent, afraid to open her eyes.

Uncomfortable with the obvious presence of people around her yet lack of any sound beside the distant squeals of the other girls, Ally gave in and reluctantly opened her eyes and lifted her head. She squinted at the sun in her eyes, once again attempting to rub the sand off. She could feel that her hair had formed a tangled, sandy mess on the top of her head, topped off with a bright green piece of seaweed. Her eyes quickly adjusted to the sight in front of her, and she quickly wished she had just pretended to be dead in the sand.

Standing above her was the one man she had been looking for, the man she feared hadn’t been able to make it. His newly dyed light brown hair stuck up in a fashionable manner on the top of his head. The sun was hitting him in just the right angle that there was a nice shadow cast upon his cheekbones and jawline. A quizzical look was on his face, gazing down at Ally with his eyebrows furrowed.

“Uhh…” he said quietly, tilting his head as he looked at her. A small, polite smile tugged at the corners of his mouth and looked confused as what to do as the small group of fans around him giggled and whispered to each other softly, their gazes fixed on the girl laying in the sand.

“Changmin…” The name flew off her lips before realizing she actually said it. Her cheeks turned a bright red and she slowly sat up. “Erm… Hello…”
