My Beautiful Nightmare
Description
Recurring dreams have seemed to plague Jane for as long as she could remember. And now, with the most recent one escalating, little did she know, she was soon in for a rude awakening.
Teaser:
“Ugh...” she groaned, rubbing her forehead. Slowly, she proceeded to open her eyes. The bright ray of light had awoken her from her slumber. She saw nothing but the light and decided to instinctively follow it knowing there was no other choice at that moment. “What the hell is going on?” she muttered to herself. “Where am I?” she looked around at the unfamiliar atmosphere before eventually encountering a door that was slightly ajar.
Making her way inside, Jane blinked. The room seemed vaguely familiar. I've been here before... she thought as she browsed around. She recognized the vintage furniture along with the projector in the center of the room, not to mention the familiar staircase located above. “What the hell?” she uttered, allowing herself to take in the familiar setting momentarily.
Before her curiosity got the best of her, she was soon startled by the sound of a click, which broke the dead silence invoking all around. Jane froze once she heard footsteps approaching from behind. Swallowing hard, she sheepishly turned to find a guy, making his way into the room. He looked in her direction, staring ahead. Jane saw this as her cue to speak up. “Uhm, I'm sorry I seemed to be a little lost,” she chuckled nervously, glancing around the eerie room. “Do you think you could help me out? I didn't mean to impose...” She found herself trailing off.
Instead, he made his way past her, settling on the couch without acknowledging her presence.
“Hello?” Jane called out to him. “Excuse me!” No answer. Her eyes widened at the sudden realization. “He can't see me.” she mumbled to herself.
Soon, she made her way over to him, waving a hand in front of his face. “Hello?” she called to him once again. He continued to stare straight ahead towards the screen. Her hunch was correct. He was unable to see nor hear her. “How am I gonna get out of here?”
With no other option, Jane took it upon herself to settle beside him on the couch. Maybe something will come up soon, she hoped. Shifting her attention to the screen, her new friend seemed to be watching a home movie of some sort. Soon, a beautiful girl wearing a white dress appeared onscreen, smiling happily. Jane furrowed her brows in confusion, focusing on the girl at hand. She seemed familiar but she couldn't put her finger as to where she'd seen her.
But before long, the girl in the video was calling someone to her. “Himchan oppa! Come over here!” she exclaimed excitedly. Soon, she was joined by a dashing gentleman, wearing a tailored pin-striped suit.
Jane's eyes widened as soon as she saw him. Averting her eyes to the gentleman beside her, she realized it was him in the video. Putting the pieces together, Jane determined that the girl must be a girlfriend or something.
As they continued to watch on, the guy on film was smiling happily laughing with the beautiful girl. Observing him closely, Jane had to admit she found him extremely attractive. He had these feline-like eyes that held a sharp yet intense gaze, his defined jawline and full lips. The guy beside her smiled slightly to himself but there was an unspeakable sadness in his eyes that broke her heart as she studied him. “That's you, isn't it?” Jane asked aloud, despite knowing he wouldn't be able to answer.
His eyes glossed over with tears as he allowed them to fall freely down his handsome face. Glancing back at the screen, Jane sighed once the image of the smiling girl appeared once again. “I wonder what happened to her,” she thought to herself before turning to her friend, now feeling a sense of relief knowing his name. Instinctively, she reached over to place a comforting hand on his shoulder but decided against it knowing it was useless. He couldn't see nor hear her. What was the point of trying to touch him when he wouldn't feel her touch anyways?
All of a sudden, Himchan stood up, startling Jane. He then made his way over to the desk nearby to begin scouring through the desk. Impulsively, Jane followed him. “What are you looking for?” she asked worriedly.
Breathing hard, he tossed the opened drawers onto the floors. The impact startled Jane once again. Alas, he found what he was looking for. Jane froze when he picked it up from inside the drawer. “Himchan...” she uttered, making her way to him. “Please don't.”
Studying the gun in his hand, he allowed his tears to fall once again before staring back at the projector. Then, he raised it, pointing at his smiling image on the screen. His hands were shaking.
Jane gasped. “No,” she shook her head, panicking. She proceeded to look around the room, hoping to figure out a way to stop him but found none.
He soon glanced at the mirror nearby. Then, almost immediately, he pointed the gun towards it. The image Jane saw next disturbed her. The Himchan standing next to her pointed the gun straight ahead whereas the Himchan in the reflection was pointing the gun to himself.
This scene was all too familiar to her. She could have sworn she dreamed about this before and now it was becoming all too real for her. Shaking those thoughts away, Jane made her way over to Himchan. “Himchan,” she pleaded. “You don't have to do this. Please, put the gun down.”
As if he could hear her, he placed the gun down, staring back at his reflection. Moments later, he picked it back up again. Jane noted his shaking hands. It was as if he was considering his decision at that point.
“No,” her voice shook, blinking back her own tears. “Please, Himchan. You don't have to do this. Please, don't do this.”
Then all of a sudden, he pulled the trigger. The sound was loud and clear, echoing throughout the room. “NO!!!!!!!!!” she shrieked.
Foreword
Hello everyone! It's me again! I hope you're not annoyed of me by now but I'm back with a new story and it's going to be a completely different story as opposed to my other story "The Undomestic Nanny" which was light and fluffy. This one is going to be a darker story with its focus on BAP's own visuals Himchan and Daehyun! I got inspired by the 1004 (Angel) MV and lately, those two have caught my attention so I figured I'd write a story about them lol. Like The Undomestic Nanny, I'm writing as I go and even still, I hope you like it! ^^
P.S. I know I used the name Jane in my other story which I deleted but I like the name a lot that I decided to use it again. This time with a completely different character and a completely different story! So I hope you enjoy!!! And one other thing... I'd like you guys to meet Jax.
Isn't he cute?! Anyways, he's my older sister's dog (this is an old picture lol, he has since gotten BIGGER but sadly, I don't have a recent pic of him by himself XD) and he's also inspired me to include him into the story so I hope you look forward to seeing his appearance! XD
