Prologue

He sat next to her on that empty park, the leaves were falling, the sky was heavy, the smell of the winter. Carefully, he looked at her in the corner of his eyes. She was sitting there in her white trench coat, topping her black dress, in her high brown leather boots. Her brown hair fell freely over her shoulders, heavy curtains that hid the beauty that only her has. She was looking at her swollen, red palms, closing it, opening it. In her neck wrapped a long pink scarf almost covering half of her face. His heart ached. He knew what they were, what they are and what they aren't. he knew all of it and his heart sank in pain. How long has he been staying in that place, with that short distance between them. She was so close, he could feel the warmth of her skin, how her flesh shivered in the cold breeze. So close. The distance was maddening. He missed her. He loved her.

She hated him.

"I remembered," he almost jolted at the fragility of her voice, the way the cold air carry it for him to hear and they way it took it away from him like a heartless thief. "I used to have a friend whom I hate and love so much at the same time." He watched her fists tightly closed. "I hate him because he always tease me and we always ends up fighting, he doesn't agree with everything I say and it just pissed me off." He smiled remembering those days, those times in which he was walking with her and him. The days that were now left in the past, all behind him, days that could never happen again. He looked away and felt his tears swelled in his eyes, blurring his visions. He tried to fake a laugh and bit his lips hard, keeping his emotions at bay, keeping his tears unshed.

"Where's the fun if he always agreed with you," he grinned putting his hands behind his head and looking up in the sky. She chuckled and nodded. "But I love him though, I love him more than I hate him." Jiyong looked at her, his tears fell on his cheeks and his heart hammered painfully against his chest. "I love him and I wasn't able to tell him." she cried, clenching tightly her coat.

"I am in love with him."
