Jung Soojung has always stayed on the safe side. Every once in a very long while, she would step over the edge  but just enough for a whiff and that was it. She never cared to get wasted at parties or be the center of attention. She didn’t crave for any man’s desires nor want any girls to feel envious. She was herself and nobody else was going to change that—nobody else was going to ever change her.

Of course fate decides to play its own game and throws her a nice basket of sour lemons instead.

They met on a Sunday.

The Sunday before midterms to be exact. While she had been gradually preparing for the killer week ahead, he on the hand, is crash studying while on a bad hangover from a friend’s birthday party.

Reaching for the same book, their eyes meet for the first time between the shelves and he’s electrified by the dark haired beauty. Fingers linger on the book while a pair of brown eyes becomes enticed by another pair of brown eyes.

Already, they know this is not just going to be a simple hello and goodbye.

The seconds pass and the silence becomes forgotten as well as the rest of the world. His hand drops from the book first followed by a small greeting smile. She gives him a quick turn of the lips then proceeds to take the book. His gaze follows her until she vanishes behind another shelf and it’s not until he’s seated back at his table that he realizes what just happened. Never has he felt so strongly attracted to someone before and she hasn’t even spoken a word to him.

Through the shelves, they take turns stealing glances at one another. Each time their gaze lasts a bit longer and becomes a little more daring. It becomes a game of hide and seek, until suddenly, she vanishes.

Returning to his table with a heavy heart, he then notices the book from earlier sitting on top of his closed laptop. His eyes dart to the window and there he spots the backside of his dark haired beauty walking towards the sunset.

Soojung knows who he is of course. He’s definitely no stranger to the girls. Kim Jongin is the one boy she needs to stay away from. He’s a heartbreaker and she’s going to be the one girl who didn’t get it broken by him. It’s true she finds herself incredibly attracted to his bronze skin and ashy hair but it's not like she can't avoid him.

And that’s when fate tosses her the first lemon.
