The Doctor.
Nam Woohyun watched from afar as his 'Yeobo' whispered something to his new girlfriend's ear. It wasn't fair that a wave of jealousy and sadness had washed over him almost instantly because of his loneliness. Kim Sunggyu, or as he liked to call 'Yeobo' - was attached with Kim Hyunah for about a month now and was thoroughly enjoying his couple lifestyle.
It wasn't fair too that Woohyun was the only one who wasn't able to accept that the oldest was attached. He was awkward whenever the new couple was around him and just couldn't accept it no matter how hard he tried. But he wasn't against it either, oh no, don't get him wrong. Having spent almost fifteen years with the older man as bachelors, it was just weird that the Sunggyu belonged to someone else now. But how could he be against it, it was his special Sunggyu hyung that he was talking about.
His saviour.
Therefore, it was a given that he was truly happy for Sunggyu and Hyuna. What with their violent and dangerous love, the two lonely souls managed to find one another and fall in love. But the problem wasn't with Sunggyu, it was with him. He couldn't hate Hyuna too, she was a lovely girl and Sungjong's best friend in high school - an obvious sign that Woohyun couldn't dismiss.
Still.
He was lonely.
He was happy that Hoya and Dongwoo were still single, but he wasn't as close to them as he was with Sunggyu. Hence, very suddenly, the fabulous Mi-Dearest wasn't so active and happy anymore. He wasn't fabulous either. And he also knew the solution, which was to just find a girl. But if possible, Woohyun rather remained as a bachelor forever.
Bachelor.
Not lonely.
There's a difference.

"Has anyone seen Nam?"
"He's not home yet."
"Really, I thought he was."
"You thought wrong Sunggyu hyung. Or maybe, you don't care for him anymore."
"Whattt?"
"Didn't you realize hyung, you've not been spending any time with Woohyun hyung ever since Hyuna moved in? No offence Hyuna."
The little girl beside Sunggyu shook her head and smiled.
"None taken. I've been telling him the same thing ever since. He's been neglecting Woohyun oppa and I hated it too."
Sunggyu refused to believe them.
"No I haven't."
"Yes you have!"
Sunggyu moved back in surprise when his whole family countered back and stared at him. Eight pairs of angry eyes stared right at him, even Ren with his big round eyes was staring at him. Sungyeol went over to Sunggyu with every intention of setting the eldest straight, once and for all.
"Hyung, don't you think Woohyun hyung is avoiding home? We all know he's supposed to be home three hours ago, but he isn't here. He looks so troubled whenever he's at home too. And you're not doing anything about it!"
"That's my problem?"
"Yes!"
"What do you want me to do about that?"
Sungyeol sighed loudly.
"We're not blaming you for getting a girl. But if you continue to neglect Woohyun hyung, we're going to be very angry. Even Ren, who was always beside you before, chose to play with Woohyun hyung instead. Because he knows our Doctor is lonely. Seriously hyung, you're supposed to be the smartest, can't you even see what's going on?"
Sunggyu frowned at Sungyeol for being so rude.
"Yah don't be so rude. I'm your hyung here alright?"
"Kim Sunggyu, if you don't do something about this, I'll move out."
"Hyuna...."
Hyuna shot a sharp glare towards Sunggyu.
And he frowned back at her.
He never thought he would live to see the day that all of his dongsengs were against him. Truthfully he didn't believe he was in any wrong. Woohyun was a man now. He wasn't that eighteen year old teenager that he had found in the middle of the streets, unconscious. He was capable of taking care of himself. And they couldn't possibly expect him to take care of Woohyun forever right? But looking at everyone's glare, he left out a defeated sigh.
"Fine fine. For everyone's sake. I'll be a baby sitter alright?"
"Hyung! That wasn't the point!"
"Then what is?"
"You're supposed to-"
"Don't bother Yeollie."
Everyone turned back to see Woohyun entering the house. He was taking off his shoes now but who knows how long he had stood there listening to their conversation. They had been too engrossed with Sunggyu to notice the clicking sound of keys against their doorknob. Sungyeol stood up and went towards Woohyun before hugging the man.
"Yeollie?."
"I know you're sad hyung. And I won't let anyone bully you. You shouldn't be sad and you can't leave us. If you're going to leave. Bring me along!"
Soon everyone was clinging onto Woohyun. All the guys actually. Dongwoo, Hoya, Sungyeol and Myungsoo. And surprisingly, Hyuna as well. She grabbed Woohyun's arm since she knew she couldn't exactly cling on him. Sunggyu rolled his eyes but he smiled when he saw Yvonne and Nana staying put where they were.
"At least my two sister-in-laws have some heart. Unlike you all."
"Sorry oppa. But we're gonna follow wherever our husbands goes to."
Sunggyu rolled his eyes. Woohyun began detacting himself from the other guys one by one. His expression wasn't the usual happy and smiling Mi-Dearest like they had told Sunggyu. In fact, he looked upset and irritated. It was very strange to them and they could almost feel their heart wilting. Woohyun then took his briefcase and walked to his room without another word, he didn't feel like talking to anyone anyway. But he felt a soft tapping on his legs and looked down.
Ren was smiling and tapping onto Woohyun's legs. He could see the baby's teeth when he smiles with some slight drooling. Usually, Woohyun would drop his briefcase and pick Ren up to place him on his shoulders for a little horse riding. But that evening, Woohyun just stared at the baby before bending down, Ren stretched his hands up for a hug.
"Sorry little guy. Not today."
And he walked into his room before closeing the door at his family.
Ren started crying - His uncle didn't want him.
Hoya rushed to pick Ren up then to calm the baby down. But Ren was crying frantically. He pushed Hoya away and the bigger man had no choice but to put the baby back on the floor. Ren then crawled fast towards Sunggyu and started hitting his legs. Thinking that he wanted a hug, Sunggyu picked Ren up and placed him on his lap. Ren began hitting his supposed-to-be favourite uncle on the face and chest.
"Kim Myungsoo! Your son is hitting me!"
"I taught him well."
"Seriously, even Ren is hitting me because of Nam? How can he treat Ren like that! Walking away from a baby, seriously."
The rest rolled their eyes.
"Hyung, you used to just walk away from Ren when you're in a bad mood as well. At least Woohyun hyung apologized to Ren. You just walk. Away."
Sunggyu couldn't understand why his family was treating him like this. Was he really in the wrong? He tried thinking in Woohyun's shoes. If the younger man had found a girl and left him alone, Sunggyu would be geniunely happy for him even though he might feel slightly lonely. But it's only a slight lonliness. Couldn't Woohyun do the same?
But of course, he made one serious mistake - He wasn't Nam Woohyun.
He wasn't the man who needed attention and love from a certain someone all the time.
"But-"
Suddenly, the door of Woohyun's room flew opened and the Doctor walked out. He had heard everything from inside and felt hurt. He took Ren away from Sunggyu's lap along with a toy and walked back into his room, closing his door. He placed Ren onto his bed and the baby laughed and smiled at his uncle. Woohyun could only smile a little. He quickly went into his bathroom to shower, afraid that the germs from the hospital might spread onto the little baby.
But he knew Ren knew better.
And he didn't want the baby to see how hurt he really was.
Outside, everyone was disappointed with Sunggyu that they ignored him. Sungyeol and Nana went back to cooking dinner. But Nana was too distracted with Woohyun that she accidentally dropped a knife. If it wasn't for Sungyeol's quick reflexes, Nana's toes and legs would be seriously injured. Yet she didn't seem to notice the danger she was in even though everyone had saw it. Before Sungyeol could even ask Nana if she was alright, Nana asked something else from him.
"Yeollie. I'm going see Woohyun oppa. I can't stop worrying about him."
"Why are you even worrying about him, he's a grown man! He's not a kid anymore."
Nana turned back and stared angrily at Sunggyu.
"Sunggyu oppa, all of us are grown man and woman. The youngest one here is Hyuna, she's our makane and baby. I understand if you're protective or doting on her. But you're being really mean and unfair."
Sunggyu couldn't believe his ears.
"What?"
"Take Dongwoo for example. You're closer to Woohyun oppa than Dongwoo, but you're treating Dongwoo better than Woohyun oppa. I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm asking why didn't you at least remain close to Woohyun oppa like before."
Sunggyu coughed in disbelief.
"I don't understand a single thing you're saying Nana. Woohyun can take care of himself, he doesn't need me to baby sit and take care of him. He's thirty-three now."
Nana was close to pulling her hair.
"Woohyun oppa can take care of himself, we all can. Myungsoo and Yvonne even have a baby and so willl I and Sungyeol. Dongwoo's love for Hanuel will never change and Hoya will get a girl soon. And yes, Woohyun oppa is thirty-three, he doesn't need anyone to take care of him, he just needs someone to talk to him. And we" - Nana points to all of them - "treated Woohyun oppa just like before. Don't you see Sunggyu oppa, Woohyun oppa doesn't want to talk to us, he wants to talk to you! When was the last time you'd even talked to him for more than ten minutes in the last month?"
Nana had caught Sunggyu's tail. The oldest brother couldn't answer her, for there wasn't an answer. She was right. He had neglected Woohyun ever since he had gotten Hyuna by his side. Nana let out a huge sigh and tried calming down slowly.
"Sunggyu oppa. When you're sad, angst or worried and wanted to move out five months ago, I tried my best to make you stay. You're older than Woohyun oppa then, you're still older than him now. Yet you're acting like you're the younger one. I hope you can figure out what I'm trying to say. And if you wish to do this for someone, don't do it for us, do it for Woohyun oppa."
And without waiting for Sunggyu to reply, Nana walked away into Woohyun's room without so much as knocking or feeling disrepectful to her family. And they couldn't really scold her as well.
After all, she was pregnant.
