A New Beginning or An End?

GD took her inside, the two had fallen silent. Only Gaho's pants were heard in the relatively empty and quiet villa. Bom was feeling a temperature rise in her cheeks as GD wrapped his arm around her shoulders and led her stiff body into his home. Now watching GD getting a glass of water from her place on the sofa, her cheeks began to get warmer. Thanks Bommie. The words echoed in her ears. She hated to admit it, but she loved the way his mouth formed her name. She loved the way it sounded and the slight whispery breath behind it. He would call her noona in public, and Bom-yang - much to her delight - in front of the YG Family, but he had never called her by her most favored name. Bommie.

"Uhh…you want a drink?"

Bom refocused back to GD's face. He was holding two glasses of water looking expectantly at her. She just noticed that he wore her favorite attire. A black hoodie, black beanie, with long, baggy, black pants. She remembered falling for him even more when his blonde hair accented the outfit. 

GD looked quizzically at her, "Uh, Bom?"

Bom snapped back to reality, realizing she had been goggling at GD. Embarrassed, she accepted the glass, gleefully noting the absence of 'noona'. Silence crept over the house again. Bom set down the glass and played with her fingers. She hated it being so awkward. It was as if the air was suffocating itself and everything around it. She looked up at GD, nervously, and opened her mouth to speak. 

Despite her burning cheeks, her tone was calm, "So, you alright so far?"

GD glanced at her, glad that the silence was broken, "I guess…I've learned to ignore...negative criticism."

She observed his face. The lines of fatigue, the dark circles from sleepless nights. A celebrity at birth, still. How could such fate fall upon this man?

"Well…I saw the news last night…thought I'd stop by…", she said nervously. She looked down at her lap again, pretending to be occupied with an annoying scratch on her finger. 

"Yeah well…you - wait."

Bom looked up at him expectantly.

"You came here from…JAPAN?", his voice was mixed with shock and relief. "I just realized, you aren't supposed to be in this country…does YG know?"

Bom smiled slyly, her noona instincts were kicking in. "Nope." 

GD's eyes widened, but his mouth was forming a smile. "Do you plan to tell him?"

Bom looked at him with a smile, "Never."

The two laughed, it was like the old trainee days, when Bom escaped the building to meet with GD in a nearby cafe. The same lines. The same feeling…not exactly.

GD set down his glass on the table besides the sofa, and sat down besides her. Bom could feel her cheeks warming again. He glanced at her and said, "Then would you like to spend the day with Mr. G?"

Dara smiled, she realized only he could make him feel so normal even in these times. Millions and billions of events to attend. Recording with Teddy. It was all a mess. It was even difficult to find her own time. But then those rare times resulted in her reading the internet and seeing netizens praising Bommie in a picture all of 2NE1 were in. Or they'll write 'Wow, CL is getting prettier!' or 'Bom Goddess!' or 'Minzy is growing up so prettily", and then the one comment out of the billions "Pretty Dara!". She was getting more and more sullen.

 {*note: of COURSE it isn't like this. Everyone is praising Dara too! I'm not excluding her out or anything, it just gives her a reason to be cranky :P Why? read on}

"Yeobosaeyo?"

Dara heard his raspy voice and she smiled. "Get up sleepy head!"

"Mwoh? Dara?", she could hear the ruffle as he -most likely- sat up on his bed.

"Dara noona - when will you start addressing me like you should?", she giggled as she heard him snort. A sign that Wooyoung was highly amused. 

Dara decided to amuse him a bit more,"Ai Woo dongseng." She talked in her the most manly voice she could muster,"Wanna go have a drink tonight? You can look at all the nice girls and-"

"Nice girls? Really?", Wooyoung's voice interrupted her, there was only a hint of playfulness. "Why do you always want me to hook up with girls?", his voice remained solemn.

Dara didn't know the answer to that,"I - uh…well my Woo dongseng has to meet a girl?!", she defended herself. "And…your Dara hyung want you to have a good one.", she cringed, realizing she was both lying and telling the truth at the same time. "Yeah…a really good girl.", she finished. 

Wooyoung chuckled, and the light mood returned, he started to speak in Busan intellect. "Aii then you should've said that to this Busan Man. I want the best girl too."

Dara ignored her sinking heart,"Ai..yeah! So, what about a drink, if there's no girls. I'm going to bore you with my troubles." She smiled.

"Whaa-! No! Okay I'll hook up with someone, just don't bombard me with your complaints. No need to listen."

"What?! No need to listen?!", Dara retorted back playfully, but a part of her heart was sinking. This wasn't the answer she was looking for.

"Yea~ Why would I want to listen to some middle aged woman talking about her difficulties of life? I rather listen to a young lady than a middle aged woman.", Wooyoung chuckled on the other line. He expected her to retort back her usual lines. It was something he always teased her for.

But the other line was silent.

"Hello?", Wooyoung called, checking if he had accidentally pushed the 'end' button. But there was no need, Dara began to speak.

"Middle aged woman, eh?", she said softly. Too softly, like the quiet before the storm.

Wooyoung remained silent, he didn't know how to respond.

"Yea, I'm middle aged, I'm not young, I'm old, older than you. Of course you want to talk to a young girl. Pretty, nice volume, fits your age, calls you 'oppa'. Maybe she'll be an idol too, then you guys can release your relationship to the public. Do what you want, I don't care. I'll just be here getting older."

Her voice continued on the eerie and calm tone, "I'm worthless, of course I am. Why? Because I'm old. I have no guy my age to look to. No one to call 'oppa'. I'm nothing- nothing to you. Of course. Cuz' I'm an old, dirty, flat, stupid, talentless, human who built all her way up here. I'm proud to be where I am. But then someone like you comes up and ruins it all."

Wooyoung couldn't speak.

"Thanks Wooyoung, I liked this pleasant chat. Hope we don't talk again. I'm tired of your teasing. Your constant comparisons to me and some idol girl. Your constant comments about my age. Your criticism. It started out as a tease Wooyoung - and yea- It was cool. But I cannot bare to degrade myself even lower than I do now. Goodbye. FOREVER."

The other line was dead.
