Life is hard.

But you know what, college life is a whole hell of a lot worse and who ever has the audacity to say that they can look back at their college years with fondness and think to themselves ‘those were my best years’ are so full of bull that their eyes have gone brown and I literally could kill them.

Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s great to get out of your house and away from your mothers watchful eyes and your fathers stern rules, but living on your own still serious . I’ve come to learn this the hard way, so, just trust me on this one. I’ve endured the weeks of ramen and water being the only substance to keep me going, and I’ve dealt with the long sleepless nights because I was too busy cramming for the next big test to worry about carving out a little bit of time to close my eyes and get some rest.

It’s not like I’m studying to become a doctor, or a lawyer or even business man. No, I’m at an art school, and it’s still hard as hell.

All I can say is at least I have my friends to keep me somewhat sane.

This is my best friend, Bang Yongguk. I’ve known him since almost forever seeing as we practically grew up right within reach of each other as next door neighbors, even if he is two years older than me. He majors in photography, but don’t let that fool you into thinking he’s all soft and gooey or worse, some sort of hipster (although his smile is gummier then jellyworms). He’s a kick rapper, and has the deepest voice on campus. It’s great, any time a freshman wants to start something, if Yongguk raises his voice, I swear the little punks go running with their tails between their legs.

He’s been dating Song Jieun for as long as I can remember, I think they started going steady back in highschool? I’m not sure, it was around the time that they started dating that I started expanding my social circle, because lets face it, nobody likes being the third wheel to a couple that is all lovely dovey.

I mean, she’s a great girl, sweet and funny and kind hearted. She's really fun to hang out with too, because she's not afraid to say whats on her mind and just be as weird as possible, which is great because alot of girls won't do that now adays. She can be a bit annoying at times, but who isn't? She’s almost like the mother of our little group… well, she would be if it weren’t for Yongguk and I’s other best friend ((and secretly my favorite hyung, but don’t you tell anybody, I am trusting you with this secret, okay?)), Kim Himchan.

I don’t think there is a single person on campus that doesn’t like Himchan. He’s always super nice and caring, and well… if you aren’t careful, he’s in your pants before you know it. He’s practically the Uni’s education program, and I’m pretty sure there isn’t a single person on campus that hasn’t slept with or at least gotten a from this guy. Not only that, but this guy is amazing with traditional instruments, I honestly don’t think there is an instrument out there that he can’t play! His voice is nearly as deep as Yongguk’s but, some how, our little princess makes it work for him.

He’s friends with everyone too, and he has all sorts of dirty secrets on everyone, so it’s great to keep any prospective bullies away. ((I’m pretty sure he had a three some with Taemin and Jonghyun last week, to be honest)).

I probably could go on for hours how much I look up to Himchan hyung, but, everyone already knows how great he is and how much everyone adores him.

Except for Choi Siwon.

He’s our student body president, and the only guy Himchan hasn’t gotten ahold of… or maybe he has? Who knows anymore. Siwon’s really religious, so, Himchan’s not really his… favorite. I guess it's his own business though, cause Siwon's still a nice guy.

Maybe there is someone out there that doesn’t like Himchan? I’m not sure, Siwon’s never spiteful though.

Moving on…

It’s not that I just hang out with a whole bunch of guys, okay? I think Narsha and Gain are great too! But I only get to see them when I’m hanging out with Jieun, and if I’m hanging out with Jieun, Yongguk is usually there too, and thanks but no thanks. See above, I don’t like being their third wheel. I see enough tongues down throats when I have to witness one of Himchan’s newest flings, I am all good with not having to see Yongguk and Jieun go at it. 

Oh, .       

You know after all this, I don’t think I’ve told you my name yet?

I'm Jung Daehyun, and I’m studying hard and training harder so that I can become a professional singer.

I’m not sure about a lot of things, and I’m worried that I’ll never make it anywhere after this and all of my parents money and the years that I have put into school will be a waste and I’ll be stuck working a 9 to 5 job at some dead beat workplace and I’ll have to survive on ramen for the rest of my life.

Maybe I’m just over reacting? I just don’t know anymore.

I do know one thing though…

This year, I’m going to take a page from Himchan’s book.

There’s no backing out, by the end of this school year, I am determined to be able to say that I, Jung Daehyun, slept with the new kid in my music class ((and hopefully I'll be able to proudly state that I got in his pants before Himchan even got a chance to his , but that is really optimistic)).

I don't know how I will do it, or how long it will take me, but as they always say.

Where there is a will, there is a way.

And I will find that way.
