[ MC#1: [gasps] Isn’t that SNSD’s Seohyun’s dorm building?

MC#2: Oh! Yes, yes! I remember the entrance – that’s where they said goodbye.

MC#1: Omo~ so the wife is one of SNSD? ]

Yoona: [bows head politely, grinning] Good evening, everyone. I am So Nyeo Shi Dae’s Yoona. Please take care of me during my stay.

[ MC#2: It’s So Nyeo Shi Dae!!!!

MC#1: Wow, the show’s hit the jackpot! It really is SNSD’s Yoona!

MC#2: The studio has some funds now!

MC#1: Does that mean we’ll all get a raise? [silence] No?

MC#2: [laughs] I guess not. ]

How was your trip from Japan? Was it good?

Yoona: Yes, it was… for the most part. We just finished recording a new single for the summer a few days ago and… [bites lip] Okay, I have to admit that I wasn’t very relaxed all throughout the flight. I’ve been thinking about this filming since the day before that it made me feel a little queasy in the plane.

You were nervous? Why is that?

Yoona: [laughs] Well… wouldn’t you be nervous if you knew you were going to meet your husband today?

“I can’t believe I’m saying this but…” Yoona pouted and threw herself face down on the bed, flailing her arms about as four of her members-slash-sisters shook their heads and laughed at her dramatics. She groaned in frustration, her head under one of Tiffany’s pink pillows. “I don’t know what to wear to the filming! What am I going to do?!”

“Yoona… come on. Just relax!” Tiffany exclaimed, pulling the pillow from her grasp and swatting her with it. Her eyes crinkled into another of her famous eye-smiles as she lowered herself onto the edge of the bed and patted her friend’s back. Sooyoung, Seohyun and Hyoyeon did the same, bouncing onto the bed and cooing soothing words.

“You’ll look pretty in whatever you wear so just take a deep breath and try to calm down.”

“It’s going to be okay, unni! My first day was nerve-wrecking too but I was able to pull through it. I’m sure you will too!”

“All other husbands are going to eat their hearts out once people see you on the show!”

They made sure to keep their tones light and easy even though they all but struggled to keep a straight face. The need to laugh at how nervous their friend was too great as Yoona went back to groaning once again into the bed sheets. Her cheeks burned red for no apparent reason, and it only made her look even more ridiculous than she should. Tiffany held back a snort from coming out of her nose and bit her lip, grinning to the other occupants in the room who were desperately holding back their laughter as well.

Well, alright – there was a reason, but all of them had (at some point, after Seohyun ‘got married’ to Yonghwa) known it was only a matter of time till she was chosen.

Being an idol in South Korea and as part of So Nyeo Shi Dae at that meant going on multiple shows at once. They’d been on just about every Korean show – from Happy Together to Strong Heart, it was almost impossible to think of a studio SNSD has never stepped into! So, when their manager came to her one day with a knowing grin and a plate of cookies – Yoona felt a foreboding chill trickle her skin as she listened to the brand new schedule she would be taking part of in the next months.

“Believe me, unni. I want to relax… I really do but the suspense is killing me!” she cried, sitting up and shaking her head profusely. Yoona wished she could be a bit more classy with her reactions in front of the camera but her image was far from her list of concerns at the moment.

To be part of “We Got Married” – this was one of those shows that evoked both awe and envy for most people watching the show and none of the anxiety new cast members would feel once finding out they would be a part of the whole experience. The whole of So Nyeo Shi Dae had followed the show since it first came out, cheering on couples and wistfully wishing for one of their own in the privacy of their own home – but ever since Taeyeon had first got casted, and then when Seohyun found her match and popularity within its’ studios – WGM became much more than just a weekend show to catch. It had become a hit nationwide and showed no sign of ever cancelling any time soon.

To be a part of the cast meant that people saw her as a lady and wanted to see how she was in a relationship. Somehow that last bit was something Yoona didn’t know how to handle.

“Are you nervous on meeting your husband?” Seohyun asked, her eyes bright as always as she patted her older sister’s head. She knew the feeling of anxiety over meeting your supposed ‘husband-to-be’ very well, having experienced it first hand months – no, it’s already been a year, she thought wistfully – before but she also knew of the excitement it brought. She knew Yoona well enough to tell that despite her nervousness, there was excitement edging in her heart too.

She grinned unknowingly, remembering the night she’d told everyone that she would be part of the WGM cast. Yoona had been the first to tell her that it was okay to be nervous and that all she had to do was it up and just smile. Seohyun wondered if it was good luck telling her unni the same.

“The nervousness will pass. It’s just like you said to me before… you just have to it up and smile.”

Yoona turned her head slightly, peeking at her young (and yet mature) friend with a half-smile. “I don’t know whether to hit you for throwing back the advice I gave you or kiss you for trying to make me feel better, Seohyun…” she said. Raising her head just a bit, she looked around her and at the supportive smiles her sisters gave her and shook her head,

“Actually, I want to kiss and hit all of you right now – it helps a lot knowing you guys are here with me.”

“Aww, Yoong. Don’t make me cry now,” Hyoyeon mock-sniffed and grinned at Yoona as she threw a round throw pillow towards her head. She stood up and walked over to the open closet, clicking her tongue several times as she dug through the heap of clothes scattered about before exclaiming “Aha!” and turning towards them again with a shirt and a pair of jeans in her hands.

“I don’t think you should worry about what types of clothes people expect you to wear, Yoona.” Hyoyeon told her, arching her eyebrow as Yoona sat up fully to take the clothes off her hands. “You’re going to be ‘married’ in the show after all… you might as well show the nation who you really are at point blank.”

“Do you mean she should act like a ‘choding’ right off the bat?” Sooyoung echoed, ruffling Yoona’s hair and grinning. Her young friend shot her a look that said “Sooyoung-unni, I am this close to hitting you for real”, to which she countered with a roll of her eyes and a loving half-hug.

“You know I’m kidding, Yoona. I agree with what Hyoyeon said. It’s better to be natural – especially in front of your would-be husband.”

“Yeah. I mean – look at how things turned out between Seohyun and Yonghwa.” Tiffany added, motioning at their maknae, quietly picking at the print of a shirt strewn across the bed. “A year after letting Yonghwa into her life, she’s gotten so lo—”

“Unni!” Yoona exclaimed, her eyes widening slightly at the precipice of her statement and quickly shushed her friend before she could continue any more. Tiffany realized this and shut , biting her lip and looking around her for help. Sooyoung and Hyoyeon didn’t know what to say and could onlt shrug in response as they looked on at their dear maknae.

Whether Seohyun heard the words or not, she remained unfazed through it all and continued to pick at the prints on a shirt. All of them, however, knew that it had struck a cord or two at least – since her stint ended in WGM, Seohyun had asked the girls to cease talking about the couple and none of them knew the reason why. They wanted to ask, but thought better of it and respected her wishes.

She hates to talk about it, Yoona thought to herself, temporarily forgetting her predicament and staring at her friend. She hated seeing Seohyun, being close to her for so long – from walking to school every morning until they’d both celebrated their 20th birthdays – she felt an instant need to protect her from everything. Whatever happened between Yonghwa and Seohyun behind the scenes of WGM was a mystery she and the whole group have always wanted to solve but didn’t know where to begin.

Perhaps… if anything good was going to come out of being cast in the show, it would be the fact that Yoona would have access to the PDs who saw the couple off-camera. Maybe if she got along well enough with her would-be husband, she’d have an extra pair of eyes and ears snooping around with her. Hmm. Maybe.

“Yoona-unni. Your phone is ringing.” Seohyun suddenly spoke, pointing at the blinking device on the table. She waved a hand to Yoona’s face slowly, her lips drawing into a smile as her distracted friend continued to stare at her with a strange expression.

“I think the PDs of WGM finally sent a message.”

And just like that it was suddenly chaos in the room… with clothes
