When one serene evening Baekhyun suggests playing some shady board game he’s just brought from God-knows-where (instead of watching a movie like they usually do) with rather mischievous glint in his eye, they already know it’s going to be a night to remember.



It’s 6 pm. Decent hour for having a little fun just before going to sleep and much appreciated leisure time before yet another tiresome day of smiling and joking in front of the camera like bunch of idiots. They like their job, they do. It’s just that the general lack of privacy and overprotectiveness of their hyungs and superiors make an unbreakable barrier separating them from genuine, carefree fun; that kind of exciting thrill every young person craves from time to time.



That’s what Baekhyun thinks anyway, so he sets the board game on the floor and waits for everyone to take their seats in the circle of pillows he prepared especially for the occasion.



‘‘Cool, this is going to be good guys!’’ he cackles and plops down between Kris and Kyungsoo, grinning widely and conveniently ignoring Chanyeol making a face at him for uncomradely sitting so far away. ‘‘You ready?’’



‘‘You still didn’t tell us what kind of board game you want to play so badly, though.’’ Kyungsoo observes somewhat flatly, playing with an empty can of coffee in his hand. He has this annoying habit of sounding like he perceives Baekhyun as intellectually limited when he's being moody, but Baekhyun decides to be a better man and make it slide this time in favor of the greater good.



‘‘Yeah, man. I mean, it’s cool that we’re twelve and bonding and stuff but a board game? Over a movie?’’ Chen bumps his knees against Tao’s, searching for moral support. ‘‘Sounds boring.’’



‘‘At least it’s something we don’t do often. I’m actually curious.’’ Suho admits.



Baekhyun looks around just in time to catch Luhan and Sehun making kissy faces at each other from opposite seats in the circle and rolls his eyes.



‘‘Everyone just shut up. I guarantee you’ll like this game.’’



And then he shows them. Sehun cranes his neck and reads the title aloud: y Time, Board Game for Adults Only.



Chen whistles, Lay giggles and Suho hyperventilates but the rest has their eyes fixed on the game, suddenly intrigued. Not at all what they were expecting.



‘‘So, how does this work?’’ Tao asks shyly in broken Korean. ‘‘Isn’t it for …ugh?’’



‘‘It’s for couples. We’re twelve. Twelve tired guys sitting on their asses on the floor.’’ Kyungsoo deadpans and this time Baekhyun does elbow him in the rib, earning a surprised gasp in return.



‘‘I’m not tired.’’ Kris says suddenly and Baekhyun thinks he sees Luhan’s Adam Apple vibrating at the sound. Or maybe he’s just gone crazy.



‘‘Me neither.’’ Chanyeol’s quick to follow, already overexcited like a teenager watching for the first time. He claps his hands uncontrollably like a seal out of water, incidentally punching Kai’s jaw in the process.



Baekhyun smirks. ‘‘Great. Okay, so this is kinda goofy and for couples indeed but I was thinking…we can modify the game all we want, right? Basically, we draw cards in turns, there’s some sort of a command or a question written on every single one. Sometimes they involve not only you but also another person, so in that case we will roll dice two times to decide whom. For example, if I roll two and three, I count people in the circle clockwise and the fifth one becomes the man in question. All clear?’’



‘‘I didn’t know that side of you, Baekhyun.’’ Chen smirks, but it’s obvious that he’s rather excited about the whole idea.



‘‘Yeah, whatever. Well, who starts?’’



‘‘But is that really a good id –’‘ Suho starts, but shuts his mouth right away under everyone’s scrutinizing gazes. ‘‘Okay, fine, fine.’’



Before anyone does as much as flinch Kris rises and draws the first card for himself, confidence radiating from his every muscle and vein.



‘‘What does it say?’’ Tao asks nervously after a few moments pass, fidgeting on the pillow.



Kris smiles and turns the card so that they can read the message, too.



The best part of my body is…



‘‘My abs and . But some of you know that much already.’’



Baekhyun lets out a halfhearted laugh and gets up to bring them some beer. They will need beer.



A lot of beer. And perhaps some vodka, Malibu and gin too.
