All the judges have decided to have a uniformed criteria/rubrics for the contest.

Title || 5%

Though the title has been provided for, it is important that the connection and relevance between the chosen title and the narrative or plot is clearly seen and understood

Writing Style || 25%

The appropriateness of the way of writing to the overall theme and tone of the story you have chosen to write. The kind of angle or point of view your story has taken is also taken into consideration.

Mechanics || 20%

Proper and correct grammar, syntax, semantics, diction and punctuation

Plot || 25%

Beyond what the story is about, what is important is how the story was treated. Is it one of those plots that have become very cliche lately? Is the narrative concise? For this criteria, appropriateness of setting and the creativity of the story are also taken into consideration.

Characterization || 20%

Given the limitations set by the length of a oneshot fic, how the characters are depicted are essential. Establishment of characters should be appropriate, creative and relatable (even alien characters in sci-fi movies are still shown to have human traits).

Overall Enjoyment and Impact + Bonus || 5%

This includes the overall impact of the story, especially the ending. Bonus points include appropriateness of font used and format. The judges will have varied reasons for giving bonus points

Total || 100%

All the score your entry will receive will be the resulting averages of the four preliminary scores. What does that mean? All the individual scores given by the judges will be added and then divided by the number of judges. The result is your final score.

Do not forget that we are giving away an award called The Sailors' Choice Award. Whoever has the most subscribers by 31 December 2013, 8 PM Korean Standard Time (KST), which is an hour before the release of winners, will be named the winner. Please make sure to make the number of subscribers of your fic visible.
