Seorin walked in through the doorway, peeking her head in cautiously first. Three other heads perked up from their desks. There was only one empty seat, so she assumed that she was the last one to arrive, and that desk would be hers.
“Sorry if I’m late,” she murmured awkwardly, sliding into her chair.

“Eh, no big deal – I promise I won’t tattle.” A young man with smooth, dark skin and full lips said with a smile. He sat in the desk in front of her, and she would luckily get to see his face every time she looked up. “I’m Jongin, by the way. Kim Jongin,”

She was sure she had seen him around at school before, but didn’t mention it. “I’m Song Seorin,” she replied.
She looked around at the other interns and asked, “Is it just the four of us?” She asked curiously, looking at the long-haired girl besides her and the skinny fellow next to Jongin.

“No, we’re obviously missing the most important person,” the long-haired girl replied, her voice a little too snarky for Seorin’s liking. The girl pointed to the large desk that stood separated from the four of theirs at the end of the room. It had a nameplate, but it was too far to make out the name.

“Soojung, talk nicely,” the skinny young man chided the girl gently.

Soojung beamed back at him and nodded. “Of course. Anything for you, Sehun-ah.”

Seorin cringed. It was one thing to be cutely flirtatious and another to be completely overbearing. It was probably because Sehun was good-looking – his face didn’t hit you right away as ‘oh-my-god gorgeous’, but it was more of his gentlemanly aura. But Soojung was clearly gushing over him a little too much.
“Desperate,” she muttered under her breath.

She could have sworn that she had said it inaudibly, but when she noticed them turn around, she realized they both had heard her comment.

“Excuse me?!” Soojung asked, her voice getting shrill. “What did you say?”

She bit her lip, not wanting to start a fight with her coworker on the first day. I should have kept my sarcastic mouth shut.

“Calm down and sit. You’re being noisy,” a young man said bluntly to Soojung, walking in through the door. His voice was soft, but deep, and his large eyes seemed to intensify his seriousness.

She couldn't help but smile as Soojung scowled.
Her eyes followed him as he walked past their desks and to the large one at the far end. He’s the head?! She thought in disbelief. But he can’t be much older than any of us…

He took his seat in the tall, black chair, and inspected his nameplate with a smug smile. He crossed his arms behind his head and leaned back. “By the way, I’m Do Kyungsoo, the head of this intern team.”
He hesitated for a moment but then decided it was worth mentioning, “… And the second son of the CEO.”
