Just when you thought you would enjoy life, it turned to flip upside down, into a burning wreck. You, Park Jae Rin, was a normal girl who lived her life with her widowed father and her annoying little brother, Park Jin Yeol. Until that day came, the day you feared the most, you were being taken away by your grandmother. Grandmother Lee, was your Mother's mom. She was sweet and caring towards you and your little brother but she despised your father and his existence. Being unable to provide for both you and your brother, she took you from your hometown Busan into her residence in Seoul. You were were to start a new life away from the two people you knew most. Your life was already a pain in the when this boy in the new school you went to enroll too started to choose you as his victim for his self amusement. You never imagined yourself being annoyed with another boy besides your brother, but it was different if you had to deal along with the group in which the boy from school claims as his gang. Foreword
You thought hard about the pros to this situation when you sat down on a chair that faced your study table. You glanced down and saw the test papers from your recent tests and saw something that heaved a heavy sigh from you.
F, F, F, C
Your face slightly brightened from that once difference of a grade from the others but you still feel disheartened. You used to had high grades during your middle school. There was not a day where you brought home a test paper with a grade lower than 85, but that all changed when your mother passed.
Then life decided to mess with me.
You crumpled the test papers and threw them to the trash bin besides you and the four crumpled paper balls ended up falling just near the can.
Really? Even just shooting them? I still fail at those crappy things?
You sighed again and made your way towards your bed lazily. You plopped your self on it, laying flat on your stomach. You didn't bother to look up as you heard rain dropping against your covered windows. You felt cold and alone. It was the same feeling from seven years ago, when your father told you that you were had to be stronger for both you and your brother.
Why did mom have to leave? We were happy...we were happy as one big family.
You were interrupted when you heard you door went ajar and tried to see if it was either your father or little Jinyeol who came to check on you but it was just a cool breeze that decided to visit you. You knew this was as painful for them as it was as painful for you. You stood up and wiped the warm liquid that was flowing down your pale, rosy cheeks and decided to bring your luggage with you.
You found your grandmother downstairs waiting for you along with your brother Jinyeol.Your father then stopped you before you headed out towards the door.
"I'm gonna miss you..." He said in his usual warm, soothing voice.
"Father...when will I come back?" You asked him.
You noticed the painful quiver in his eyes and knew that even he didn't know the answer to your question. You wrapped your arms around him tightly and squeezed your hand around him more.
"I love you, Jae Rin." He placed a gentle kiss on your head. "Your mother will protect you..." He whispered that almost inaudible.
Mom, will you protect me?
