Foreword

Kibum opened his eyes and looked around. 'Where am I?' he thought as he started to walk. Surrounding him were trees as far as the eye could. Decorated with snow and colored a bright, beautiful silver. Two suns burned bright in the sky and shined on the trees. Making it look as if they were rainbows.

"Wow~" he said outloud in awe. It really was a spectacle. Nothing that could ever be created on Earth. Let alone anywhere else in the universe for that matter. Walking at a faster pace he rubbed his arms. 'Shouldv'e worn a sweathirt to sleep.' he thought. Right now he was traipsing through the chrome forest in just flannel pajama bottoms and a pink t-shirt.

Soon he came upon a clearing in the middle-or at least he thought so-of the forest. His eyes opened wide at the sight before him. Before his very eyes was a small lake that looked as if it was made of melted crystals. Just beside it was a strange tree. The tree was only a few feet tall but the strange thing was how it was shaped. It onlt had one branch the twisted into a spiral over the lake.

Hung from the branch was a silver lantern that cast rainbow lights over the lake's surface. From Key's point of view it was one of the most beautiful things he had seen yet. Walking closer to the lake he could hear a whiney from the trees to his left. Turning his head to face the noise something charged out of the forest. The creature ran straight towards Key and he tried to back away.

As the creature ran past a splashing could be heard and soon Key was floating to the bottom of the lake. Bubbles streamed from his mouth as he stretched his hand towards the surface above. The top of the lake was like a glass cover. He could see through it bought he couldn't get out. He tried to swim up but his legs seemed to stop working. All he could do was hold his hand out and pray for someone to find him.

His lungs starting to burn and tears poured from his eyes. In the lake where he was seemingly falling the tears could clearly be seen floating up. Like the lake and his tears were two completely different things. Kibum didn't pay attention to the small detail though. All he wished was to get out o the icy cold waters. To float up like his tears to the surface.

That didn't happen though. He continued to float downwards. Falling into a black expanse below him. The chasm's mouth opening wide to swallow him whole.

Closing his eyes tightly Kibum took his last exhale before no air was left. The burning in his lungs doubled and more tears floated up. By now Kibum had lost all hope of making it out of the icy waters surrounding him. The bitter cold froze his body and possibly his heart. His heart beat slowed to almost a stop and he opened his eyes once more.

Suddenly a bright light lit up the lake above him. In the center of the light was none other than him. The boy from his dreams. With his hand still outstretched time seemed to stop as they looked at each other. The tears from his eyes froze into ice and shattered in the water.

The boy in the light quickly stretched his hand out and brushed the tips of Kibum's fingers as the water started fall around him. Kibum was being pulled by the strong current but stretched his arm out farther to reach the other's. The boy reached out once more and held tightly onto Kibum's hand as the water continued to fall around them. Then the water was gone. All of it. Just gone.

The boy in the light smiled at Kibum and pulled him close. Wrapping his arms around Kibum's small frame the coldness that once surrounded him disappeared. Now he was enveloped in a warmth he couldn't explain. Something so surreal and happy. Making him feel as if this was what he had been waiting for all his life.

Slowly the boy pulled back and looked at Kibum. Tilting his head the boy smiled smiled happily. He never said a word to Kibum but his actions were enough for Kibum to understand. Then the boy started to shimmer and his smile faltered.

"What's happening?" Kibum asked worriedly as the boy's hand went through him. The light surrounding them started to disinegrate and Kibum reached out to touch the boy. His hand went straight through him though. Looking to the boy's face in fear they're expressions seemed mirrored. Both showed fear and sadness.

The boy opened his mouth to speak but soon he was gone and Kibum was falling once more. Not in water though. Through clear, empty space. He screamed and closed his eyes tight as the wind whipped around him.

"AAAAAAAAAAh!" Kibum screamed as he shot up in his bed. Gripping his blankets tightly he tried to calm his breathing. Panting heavily and sweating under the blankets he shook his head. The ordeal was terrifying but one thing was wrong. He didn't remember what the dream was sbout. He only remembered a name. "Jonghyun..." he whispered softly.
