It has been 4 years since that painful day. The day I lost my best friend and the only family I ever had. We grew up together in the orphanage and have been best friend since the day she save me from getting bully by a chubby boy 2 years older than me. We were inseparable, sister for life. We had a plan when we turn 18 we would get our own place and live together forever, how I wish our dream to come true but reality was a . 

We were 16 when Jess fell in love with Christian, the same little chubby boy who she save me from although he wasn't chubby or little anymore. He grow up and now standing at 6 feet tall and handsome. They were perfect for each other. As their relationship got deeper, so did their love for one another. I was in shock but very happy for them when they told me they were going to have a baby. I was excited that our little family that me and Jess created was now going to add another member to it. I know being pregnant at 16 is not the ideal plan for her, but you can never plan out your life the exact way you want it. You just got to deal and hope for the best.

Jess was close to her due date, we were 17 now and had already move out of the orphanage due to Jess being pregnant. With me and Chris both working. We were able to get a cheap 2 bedroom apartment. Our family was complete, we were happy. Until that night...

It was raining really hard outside as we were rushing to get Jess to a hospital because her water broke and she was going to deliver her baby. I can remember hearing Jess scream out in pain from the contraction, cussing at Chris saying it was all his fault and hitting him from the backseat. I hug her trying to ease her pain. "Jess your going to be a mom" I continue to rub her shoulder. She look at me and burst out in tears. "I'm scare Yolanda what if I'm a bad mom" I smile and wipe her tears with my thumb " We're family I'll always be here for you, so I'll never let you be a bad mom to my nephew cause I'll kick your ". We broke out in laughter.

That was the last memories I had of her, before the car swirl and......... CRASH!

When I woke up alone in a hospital room, I panic and I yell for Jess but no reply. The doctor came in and told me what happen. How it was a car accident, that there was a drunk driver that ran into us. How Jess and Chris had didn't make it and that I was lucky to survive, but I didn't feel lucky at all. I didn't really hear the doctor when he continue to talk about my condition. I just lost all my family, I'm all alone now but than I heard him say baby. It snap me out of my thought "what happen to the baby, he fine right" I asked in a panic. " Yes he fine, we were able to do a c section and get him out in time" I let out a breath of relief " I want to see him" the doctor place his hands on my shoulder and gave it a squeeze " you should rest more, you can see him tomorrow". I shake my head words seem to fail me, I look up at the doctor with pleading eyes " please" I manage to voice out. He sigh and told the nurse to bring the baby over.

When the nurse came in with a bundle of blue blanket and wrap inside was the most beautiful baby I ever seen, he look so much like his mom. I broke down crying hold him tight sorry... sorry... sorry  were the only word that I was able to say in between sob. Sorry that I couldn't protect our family, sorry that you lost your parents, sorry that I lived and not them, just sorry.
