Prologue

The room is filled with harmonizing music from the different instruments played by four girls; along with it was a soothing voice of another girl. The loud banging of the percussions would’ve sounded as a noise to someone but to them it was their music. Softly, another voice joined the lead vocalist on singing. The music played on. The drums were hit harder before the time when the lead guitarist do her guitar riffs happened. All of the other instruments started to get played softly as the lead guitarist emerged herself in doing her riffs. Slowly, the music went louder and louder once again until the vocalist started singing the final chorus.

Will you hear me for one last time?

You were the greatest thing that happened to me

I love you but now I’m letting you go

The music started to fade away. Gone were the sounds produced by the guitars and the only sound left in the room is the echo of the last hit hi-hat and the panting produced by the exhausted band members. They stayed still, still breathing heavily before looking at the lead guitarist.

“Was it good enough yet?” said the drummer in between deep breaths.

“That’s it. Let’s eat outside,” answered the lead guitarist. She looked at her band mates and smiled. “We did well today.”

“I’ll take that as a compliment,” said the bassist who smiled faintly.

They started keeping their instruments while the drummer checked her bag, not forgetting to keep another pair of drumsticks with her. The lead guitarist turned her back on them and put the guitar back on its rack. Someone lightly tapped her shoulder and without suspecting anything, she looked back.

“Phew,” said the vocalist with a smile. She had poked the guitarist’s right cheek with her forefinger.

“Aye,” complained the guitarist. “When will you stop playing this childish game?”

She smiled at the vocalist and placed her hand on top of her head. Using her thumb, she brushed the girl’s forehead lightly, ruining the girl’s neatly combed hair and getting her finger wet due to the vocalist’s sweat but she didn’t mind at all.

“When you’ve learned not to look back every time I tap your shoulder, I’d stop,” said the vocalist mockingly and started fixing her hair in order.

“Figures.”

“Hey you two,” someone called out. “We’ll be eating outside now, aren’t we?”

“Yes. Yes. We’re coming.”

[A/N:] This is my next ongoing story after finishing Crossing the Line. If you haven’t read Crossing the Line yet, then go and read it (kidding, t’was poorly written). You may have noticed the multiple pairings tags. Yes. That’s right. I’ll be doing a triangle fic (nervous now). Some characters may not show up in the first few chapters but all nine will appear in the story (description, duh).

Expect the unexpected.
