“People say that she’s working in his company! It must be her connections!”

“She’s so lucky to know them! I can’t help but wish to be her. I want to be Sandara Park!”

Those were some of the usual whispers going in the rumor mill around the campus. Yes, I was the center of the gossip circle of the different groups. It means that every type of student knew who I am especially the women. They knew me, the one and only, Sandara Park.

I transferred a week ago and I’ve already attracted the vultures hunting for prey. With my situation, I’m kind of like a magnet attracting for trouble. Who wouldn’t be? Okay, let me tell you my situation so you can understand.

According to rumors, I got the attention of almost all the hottest men in Seoul. I can’t say their hot but they’re certainly not that bad looking. It just so happens that they’re far from the people I admired and I knew I’m getting off topic here. First, let me get this straight, I don’t think I have all the attention of those guys. It just happened that I knew them one way or the other and I didn’t think that knowing them would bring forth all of these. If I knew it would cause these much trouble, I rather not know them at all.

I’m not being conceited and self-centered but that’s the truth.

I disliked trouble especially those kinds brought forth by rumors.  I didn’t like the feeling of people talking about me behind my back. I didn’t like how I’m being judged just because of something they saw for a second and misunderstood it. Not when those men where a little into skinship and didn’t know the meaning of personal space. Believe me; I did my best to explain it to them. They just won’t listen and I don’t want to tell them how their fans harassed me every now and then. Because the thing I hated the most, rumors aside, was being protected. For Pete’s sake, I lived by myself in another country for five years without anyone’s support and I can still do that without anyone’s interference.

Good grief! If I knew that coming back to Korea would be troublesome, I would have not made the choice of coming home. I would have stayed far away from here.

I can only sigh now and shrugged my shoulders. Enough of my ranting and let me tell you the story on how such rumors started. These have all started few months when…
