It was a dark Spring day. Walking home, tired, wanting to rest, I turned into the cramped side street to my apartment and the rain began to fall. Today, is a horrible day, I thought to myself. I felt my tears slowly pooling in my now burning eyes. The soft, warm rain was replaced by a cold shower. My tears felt hot against the now cold air. The rain drops that fell on my skin felt like small pricks of ice, sending chills up my spine. Lightning flashed close behind me, startled I picked up my pace. 

Walking passed a street light, the rain drops darkened as a shadow appeared falling as fast as the rain. *THUD* Its shape was about the size of a man. I stopped. Impossible, did someone just fall from the sky. I was frozen, afraid to see what lay behind me. Afraid to see if I was right, if someone decided to end their life on this dark Spring day. I was afraid. Yet I couldn't stop myself, I turned around.

The thunder from the lightning passed through my body, shaking my bones, drowning out the loud beating of my heart. I was right.. and I was wrong. What looked like a man lay before me. His top bare, his porcelain white skin shown, glittering under the splattering rain. Doubts, I was filled with doubts. Is he dead? I looked closer and a large pool of blood was spreading as the cold rain continued to fall. I staggered forward. I couldn't leave him there to die.

Blindly, I found myself at his side. Who is this man? Where did he come from? I struggled to find his wounds, his hands had minor scratches, but the blood was coming from somewhere else. Two large wounds were bleeding profusely on his back, between his spine and shoulder blades, deep, as if two large claws gauged through his flesh. He was cold. 

"Hello?! Can you hear me?! Please, please don't be dead. Open your eyes! Move! Anything!" I was yelling at him, asking him to give me a sign that he's alive. Frantic, I began to look for signs. My umbrella lay open at my side, I grabbed his hand looking for a pulse. Holding my head near his mouth, I listened for a trace of a breath. Nothing.

My tears that froze at the sight of him, began to fall again. The tears felt like fire, burning my flesh, I couldn't understand the pain I felt with those tears. Then, suddenly, the cold hand I was holding moved, finding it's way on my cheek, immediately cooling my tears, as if telling me not to cry. Slowly, I looked at the man I thought dead. His ice-blue eyes pierced through me and I couldn't look away. Another burst of lightning flashed behind me. Was I seeing things? His ice-blue eyes flickered and turned black! As if a switched was flipped, I felt his heart beat through his hand, and his skin began to burn. He's alive!
