❄Prologue

I'm 13 and I have a best guy friend which is 14. We have been friends since we're around 4? I'm an outcast in middle school...well not really since I have at least a friend. His name is Kim Myungsoo. I love him to bits...as a bestfriend of course,no other reason. We hang out after school and all those. I'm ugly....really I am and Kim Myungsoo doesn't look bad. All the girls squeal whenever he winks at them,but they grimace when they see him hang out with someone like me all the time.

"Oppa!" I yelled as soon as I saw him. "Oh Ji Kyung!" he waved at me. It was my birthday but I guess he forgotten it since he didn't show any signs of acknowledgment. Oh well. "Ji Kyung...you stay right here,I go get something okay?" he said and left my room. Suddenly the lights went off and my whole room became dark...i'm afraid of the dark. I was about to call out for Myungsoo's name when I heard...

"Happy birthday to you...happy birthday to you,happy birthday dear Ji Kyung...happy birthday to you."

I was speechless. "Oppa?" I asked in the dark. He was holding a cake and the only thing that was bright were the candles on the cake. "What are you doing babo? Shouldn't you blow the candles?" he asked smiling,still holding the cake. After I blew the candles,he placed the cake on the table and immediately switched on the lights,knowing i'm afraid of the dark. He was the first person that ever did that to me. My parents are too busy and so they barely spent time with me. "Gomawo oppa." I smiled. "What is there to be thankful? Stupid." he laughed before taking a handful of cake and smashing it in my face. "Ya!" I yelled and he continued laughing. "I'm so going to get you for this!" I screamed.

"Myungsoo ah...i'm leaving..." I said as I took note of his expression. My dad had some business in america so I have to migrate there with my mum. "What...? To where?" he said. He looked as if he was about to cry. "To America...but don't worry...i'll be back." I said and controlled my tears before he pulled me into a hug.
