I’ve always been a firm believer in standing up for yourself. And don’t get me wrong, I still am. But I also understand that the older you get and the more life throws at you, the harder it gets to find your voice. For example, it used to be so easy for me to just be who I am. I befriended the people I wanted to get along with, avoided all the bad influences, and it was never that hard to say no (unless it was to someone of authority, of course). Boy, do I miss those days.

See, that was way back when I still went to my old school, before my father’s job moved us a little further away. Don’t ask me what he does; I’m not so sure I understand it either. Probably all I can tell you about it is that it’s related to business and that whatever it is, he must be really good at it considering I’ve lost count of the amount of times he’s been promoted like this. Unfortunately for me, it looks like he’s going to stay doing his current job for a long while, which means I’m stuck here at this new school. Seoul Academy of Talent. Sounds magical, doesn’t it?

It’s not that I don’t have any talent and that’s why I’m so out of place here, it’s just that I’m not the kind to flaunt it unlike almost everyone here. And I would have preferred studying more rather than having my throat hurt nearly every single day from after-school voice lessons. Don’t let the term ‘after-school’ lead you into thinking that these are extra-curricular and therefore optional. Oh no. Here, it’s mandatory to take an extra class specifically for your talent, whatever your poison may be.

And if it only ended there, I wouldn’t be complaining so much. But no, there are also the Wolves. Picture a group of guys, mega popularity, school-wide fame, good looks and wealth, everything you could possibly dream of. And these dominate the school, take advantage of poor souls, break hearts, and most importantly feed on Prey.

A Wolf chooses his own Prey. You get no say in it if it happens to you. Believe me, I’ve tried. Anything you do, or anything about you can make a Wolf claim you as his Prey (being small and quiet shouldn’t be enough to be called 'Mouse'), it’s simply bad luck. I guess to them, I was the equivalent of fresh meat.

As a Wolf’s Prey, your job is basically to just do whatever they say and try not to mess up. And even if you don’t care about what other people think of you, your reputation, or popularity, it’s so easy for a Wolf to find out what’s important to you and threaten you with it. Even if you never realised it was that important to you in the first place. But even so, the only other friends you can ever make (within the school) are other Prey.

 A Wolf can have as much Prey as he wants. Sure, most of them like to focus their torture on one Prey each, but there’s no rule against having more. Every so often, the Wolves also like to share, or switch around. If you’re Prey to one Wolf, you’re Prey to them all. It’s not likely for a Wolf to dismiss a Prey before the end of the school year, and some even keep their Prey until graduation.

And don’t think that after they all graduate, none of this will exist anymore because surprise, it’s also usual of them to recruit new Wolves into the pack to continue their legacy.

So don’t even bother crying “Wolf”.

Well, hi there. Haven't been writing for a while and this little idea popped into my head and for the first time, I was really excited to write it down. To be honest, reading over it, it's becoming really confusing or really cliche or both. If this story is similar to any other story in any way, it's purely coincidence. Like seriously, I only came up with it this morning when I was trying to get back to sleep. And no, I haven't been organised and worked out the whole story quite yet eheh. Honestly speaking, I'm a really slow, lazy writer but I really hope to start writing this soon~
