The wind brushed past me, everything seems like a blur. Though I shut my eyes tight, I can’t feel the adrenaline that should be flowing in my body with every step that I take. As I sprint throughout the track field, my mind was filled with unnecessary thoughts.

I wiped the bullets of sweat dripping in my body. This is the one of the bad things when you’re in the track team; you have to expect the drench and smell that comes along with it.

“Ann” a husky, feminine voice called me.

“Yes Devon?” I answered not even bothering to glance at her.

“You’re not going to quit, are you? I mean, you have a future in running. Don’t waste your chance on this”

I gave her a look. I do understand where she’s getting at, but it’s not like she, or they, understand me “I’ll be wasting my chance more if I stay at the team” subconsciously, I replied coldly.

Fortunately, she’s a lot better than those other good-for-nothing club presidents, who only think of themselves “Fine. I won’t stop you anymore. But if you ever want to return, you’re always welcome here”

“Thanks” I turned around; ready to leave, when I remembered something I should have said to those others who accepted me “I appreciate it Devon. I sincerely hope next time we come across each other again” though I had my back facing her, I felt her nodding in agreement. With that, I made my leave, searching for another leisure, a new goal I’ll pursue, and hopefully the last one.

With my backpack on my back, I was readying myself to leave from school to home. The sun is starting to set, and I don’t want another nagging from my mom.

Just then, sitting on the top of a playground’s slide, with a guitar on hand, is a guy. Such a beautiful guy. And a heavenly voice. I can clearly see that he’s singing from his heart.

I was too absorbed on listening, that I didn’t notice my feet dragging me towards him. The dashing dude with an angelic voice, and face.

But when he sensed my presence, he abruptly stopped, quite shock.

“I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to eavesdrop” I stuttered out, which happens once in a blue moon.

He got off the slide and stood in front of me. He’s pretty skinny, and not that tall, but the aura he gives is something. “N-no. Sorry, miss” he said, and rushed away. And before I came back to myself, he’s gone.
