If someone told Chanyeol a year ago that he would become an overnight runway sensation and quickly proceed to join the ranks of today’s most prominent fashion models, he would have immediately assumed that the person was under the influence of alcohol or some form of illegal substance and has therefore lost control over their basic cognitive functions. In simpler terms, they were either drunk or high as . That would've been the only logical explanation because otherwise, no one would ever think of using Chanyeol and fashion in the same sentence unless it's to say that 'Park Chanyeol has the most horrible fashion sense in the history of horrible fashion senses.' or maybe something like 'If a person could get arrested for fashion blunders, Park Chanyeol would be spending the rest of his miserable life behind bars.' He knew because he used to be on the receiving end of those types of remarks on a daily basis but they never really bothered him too much because for Chanyeol, any outfit would do as long as it's comfortable. Unfortunately, though, Chanyeol's definition of 'comfortable' meant mom jeans and oversized hoodies - a combination which was nothing short of tragic. And as if that wasn't bad enough, he was also completely useless when it came to color coordination and has absolutely no concept of accessorizing. He was practically the personified version of the term 'fashion faux pas'. Except his was pretty much permanent. 

But it happened one relatively cool autumn day; he was discovered whilst innocently passing by Condé Nast building on his way to Walgreens, dressed in a green camouflage hoodie, a pair of gray sweatpants, and some old Chucks that have definitely seen better days. The guy who spotted him (who, Chanyeol would learn later on that same day, was actually Shim Changmin, former model and co-founder of Visual Shock –one of the world's top modeling agencies) had just walked out of said building after a meeting with Anna Wintour. Changmin had ordered one of his bodyguards to chase after him, and a hilariously confused and terrified Chanyeol was brought over (quite literally, since the beastly bodyguard had grabbed a struggling Chanyeol by the waist and single-handedly carried him to where Changmin was standing by a sleek black limousine) to the tall, immaculately dressed man. Changmin had given him a once-over and promptly asked, “How would you like to become a model?” Before Chanyeol could even begin to process the question, he was being pushed into the limousine and then driven to 5^th Avenue where the agency's headquarters was located. He was then taken to the top floor of the 33-storey building and presented to Kim Jaejoong, the inhumanly beautiful founder and CEO, who immediately approved of him and proceeded to gush about how his ‘graceful, swan-like’ neck made him look like a secret lovechild of the late Audrey Hepburn (followed by a long, overly dramatic speech regarding his ghastly outfit which deserved to be burned because it was offensive) and the next thing he knew, he was being interviewed and getting a couple of head, profile, and full-frontal shots taken.

And so the past year all went by in a whirlwind of photo shoots, runway shows, fashion weeks, VIP parties, product endorsements, talk show guestings, TV advertisements, and everything else that he never wished for but had gotten anyway. Before Chanyeol knew it, he was being dubbed as the darling of the modeling industry, a celebrity in his own right. All within the span of one year, give or take a few months.

When he thought things couldn’t possibly get any crazier, however, he was proven wrong when five months ago, at a private party to celebrate Jaejoong’s 33rd birthday, he caught the eye of one Kris Wu Yifan – sole heir to a multi-billion dollar conglomerate and a close friend and business partner of Jaejoong’s almost equally rich husband, Jung Yunho.

This idea has been hopping around in my head for quite a while now, and as you can see, I have succumbed to the evil plotbunnies that refused to leave me alone unless I did something about them. And so a new Krisyeol fic is born. I don't know how long this is going to be, or how often I'd be updating, but I'm hoping to finish this before the year ends. We'll see.

P.S. None of this ever happened in real life, especially not how Chanyeol was discovered. xD It doesn't work like that. That's exactly why it's called fanfiction in the first place.
