Foreword
Jung Daehyun never believed he would succumb to anyone’s beauty. He was a model after all. Models were fit, good looking and he excelled in all those fields. He smirked when the photographer looked genuinely amazed at how fitting he was for their endorsement. He loved his job, his income rate was higher than most men his age and he was good at it. He knew that he was good by the countless calls from magazine companies and his constant appearances on front page magazine covers. This gave him quite the social standing, both in the workforce and the public.
He did not plan to fall in love at work. The flawless perfection before his eyes, the woman that monitored him through her 70-300mm camera lens.
“Daehyun, could you look away from the camera and focus into the distance towards your left?” the photographer suggested but Daehyun couldn’t oblige.
He wasn’t looking at the camera but the person behind it, her.
“Daehyun?” The female said and removed the heavy looking camera away from her face. Revealing features that tugged on Daehyun’s heart.
“Ah, yes. Sorry I was lost in thought for a moment.”
The photographer smiled understandingly and raised her camera to her face once more, “That’s alright. Just a few more shots to go and you’re done.” She informed.
Encounters like this could either go one way or the other. Daehyun could either try to court her or never see her again. But just this once he wanted fate to guide him. If he were to see her again, the first thing on his mind was nothing more than to know her name. He wanted to place an identity to the photographer. He wanted to know who she was, her habits, her likes, dislikes, phobias, the little details she would overlook but he would treasure.
When the session was over, Daehyun only wanted it to last a little longer. He wondered what she thought of him as she saw him through her camera. What did her eyes tell her to make her press the shutter? What did he do to trigger that?
They said their goodbyes and Daehyun found himself immersed at the sight of the passion she had for her work. Checking through the photos they just took, picking out ones she was satisfied with. He thought: How can someone emit such grace while standing still looking at a screen?
Before his mind had the chance to generate deeper thoughts on the matter, a thick hand patted his back. He choked slightly in surprise.
“Good work today!” The producer congratulated and gave him a warm smile, “I look forward to working with you tomorrow.”
Daehyun smiled in return and suddenly paused, “Tomorrow?”
The producer’s head tilted, “Yes. Didn’t your manager tell you? We have a session tomorrow morning.”
Daehyun traced back to his discussion with his manager. How careless of him, he must’ve forgotten that detail. “Ah, yes of course. I look forward to seeing you again as well.” He said with courtesy.
The producer nodded and left to continue with further work.
“Tomorrow…”
Daehyun glanced back at the female photographer and a knowing smile graced his lips. Looks like his decision to trust fate was rewarded.
It was the first day of December tomorrow.
