Competition

 You left the angels sitting in your bedroom at home. You told them to be very quiet, in case any of your family heard a noise and went to see what was up. Since you were an only child, your parents were both very protective, and if they found two teenage boys sitting in your room all hell would break loose.

 “And if I come back and find any of my clothes have been touched, I will not be happy,” you told them, looking sternly at Youngmin especially. He gave you a look so innocent that for a second you felt bad about sounding so strict.

 Once you got to class, you spotted Minwoo in his usual seat. “Hello,” you mumbled as you took your seat in front of him.

 “Hiya!” he chirped, sunny as always. “You look kinda… different today…”

 You beamed. At Youngmin’s suggestion you’d tied my hair in a different style to your usual. You were thrilled he’d noticed.

 “…Isn’t your shirt inside out?” Minwoo continued, squinting.

 You glanced down. He was right. In your panic to get ready quickly in the bathroom while Youngmin knocked on the door and asked if you were done every five seconds you’d put your shirt on wrong.

 Blushing a deep red, you scurried off to the girl’s toilets to fix your uniform.

 You shut yourself in a cubicle and began fiddling with your shirt’s buttons. The door banged as another girl – or two, from the sound of it, walked in.

 “Minwoo looks cute today!” You heard one girl sigh. You recognised her voice as Soojung, your classmate. “I think he gets cuter by the day.”

 From your spot inside the cubicle, you nodded along with her and tried not to sigh. Hey, he did seem to get cuter every day. Most of the girls in your class had a crush on him.

 Soojung was the most popular girl in the class though. Gorgeous and smart, she could have any boy she wanted. She mostly dated older boys though, so you had thought she wouldn’t set her sights on Minwoo.

 “I didn’t think he was your type,” said the other girl, one of Soojung’s friends. Obviously she’d had the same thought as you.

 “Usually I don’t like boys our own age,” Soojung agreed. “But I’m getting tired of older boys. They only want one thing.” You heard her sigh. “Minwoo’s so sweet. I’m definitely going to go after him.”

 You closed your eyes in disappointment. If Soojung wanted Minwoo you had no chance. How could a little wallflower like you compete against vivacious, charismatic Soojung?

 On the other hand… you had something Soojung didn’t have. Two secret weapons named Kwangmin and Youngmin. This, you decided, was war.
