Grandma Lu
My Contract MarriageYou sighed as you boarded the plane with Luhan. It was only the two of you as his parents had an urgent meeting to attend. It was okay, since Luhan’s grandmother wanted to see the both of you more.
Minhee’s pregnancy never left your mind. How could you marry someone who would get another girl pregnant? The divorce came into your mind and you were really sure that you would go with it. A few more days or maybe a few weeks wouldn’t hurt.
You decided to set aside your feelings for him because it would get nowhere. You didn’t want to destroy a family because of your selfishness. Once the child is born, Luhan would need to be there for her and the child – more like should be there. You stole a quick glance at him and sighed. He would be a great father. *One last time. Let’s enjoy this and I’ll let you go.* A tear escaped from your eye and you quickly wiped it away.
Luhan was awake all along and your silent sniffles was heard clearly by him. He couldn’t do anything but sit back as his mother insisted that she and her husband would take the matters into their hands. They just wanted him to use the given chance to persuade you not to get a divorce. He should find a way before your visit to China ends. They didn’t believe the whole story about Minhee getting pregnant and they didn’t want to, but Luhan didn’t come free from a good hour of nagging and scolding from his parents. If Luhan was to summarize what his parents told him, it would be ‘control your hormones and don’t get your emotions in the way’.
After a few hours sitting on the plane, you finally arrived. This time it was different, there were paparazzi everywhere and you looked at Luhan in confusion. He shrugged his shoulders when he met your questioning look. You didn’t know whether to act lovey dovey with him since you would get a divorce in no time, or act natural – distant.
He sighed when he saw you walking beside him with such a huge gap that people who didn’t know you wouldn’t even think you were acquainted with each other. He pulled you and put his arms around your shoulders, then whispered ‘just act along’. You formed your lips in a straight line and forced a weak smile at the cameras.
You got past them finally and went inside the car. Luhan immediately asked the chauffeur about the paparazzi since whenever he visited China, there wouldn’t be that much of cameras zooming on his face and clicking at every move he made. “Your grandmother’s health has been announced to the public and so as your arrival with your wife. The public is even assuming that there is already a grandchild along the way and that you would say that good news to your grandmother.” Luhan nodded and you looked at him. He translated to you what the chauffeur said and you just meekly nodded.
Your silent treatment was driving him insane. He’d rather have the moody or angry Sunmi at him. “Sunmi,” he called softly and you looked at him with lifeless eyes. He bit his inner cheeks and planted a soft kiss on your forehead that caught you off guard. “Please, Sunmi let’s forget everything that happened in Korea and act as a happy married couple for grandmother. The reason why she wanted to see us is because she likes you so much and you ga
