Chapter 12

ROOM

Sulli tried her best to make sure Kevin won’t be hurt by Sohyun’s rejection. Though she normally does not go out of the room before 8AM, she was already waiting outside Minho’s room as early as 7AM. She made sure she hides behind a post so that Miss Emma and Sohyun won’t see her.

When Minho went out of his room, she immediately called to him.

“I almost died there. You shouldn’t surprise someone like that.” Said Minho

“I didn’t mean to. I was hiding so that Sohyun and Miss Emma would not see me.” Said Sulli

Sohyun saw Minho and Sulli talking. Such a pest on an early morning. She even heard her name on the conversation. Sohyun got curious and hid somewhere.

“Umm…I don’t know if you heard the flower incident yesterday.” Said Sulli

“Is she asking for Oppa’s help against me?!” thought Sohyun angrily

“Yeah…I heard. How’s Kevin?” Said Minho “I’m sure he cried…I hear Sohyun wasn’t gentle at all”.

“Umm…We know the flower is special to Sohyun…When I learned it…Kevin already picked it…so He’s really sorry…Actually he really wants to make it up to Sohyun…But I’m just not sure how Sohyun will take Kevin’s efforts.” Said Sulli

“Effort?” asked Minho

“Kevin he…he woke up as early as 5AM this morning. I saw him drawing something…and he said he wants to give that to Sohyun to say sorry for the flower.” Said Sulli

“I don’t think that’s a good idea.” Said Minho “Sohyun’s heart is cold towards Kevin. She will reject that drawing without a care.”

Minho took a deep breath.

“We can’t let Kevin be subjected to that.” Said Minho

Sohyun can’t bear listening anymore. She went the other way. She can’t listen to her Oppa who has already fallen to those people’s trap!

 “But he really wants to give the drawing to say sorry to Sohyun.”

“Hmmmm…Let me talk to Sohyun.” Said Minho

Sohyun walked down the stairs and saw Kevin walking towards her.

This kid! He’s the most irritating of all!

“Noona…” Kevin called Sohyun “Here…I drew you, Noona…I’m sorry for the flower.” Said Kevin

Sohyun felt like her irritation is at the peak

“Look you kid. That flower is more important that you. If I can choose between you or the flower, I would choose the flower.” Said Sohyun

“That’s enough!” said Minho in his commanding voice while walking down the stairs.

Sohyun felt something close to fear when she heard Minho.

Sulli ran down stairs to get Kevin. She expected Kevin to cry by Sohyun’s harsh words. But it seems Kevin is ok…

“Kevin..you ok?” asked Sulli

“Hey, don’t make it look like I’ve put my hand on him.” Said Sohyun

“Why does Noona need to choose me or the flower, Mommy?” asked Kevin

Minho went beside Kevin and knelt so that he is face to face with Kevin

“I think Noona is just hungry.  We’ll buy more flowers for the garden, ok? Then we’ll make sure we search for the most special flower for Noona, ok?” asked Minho

Sohyun walked away feeling her ears and eyes are burning of what she doesn’t like to see and hear.

“We’re not done yet. Sohyun, Go to the study now.” Said Minho

Sohyun is trying to prepare herself for being scolded. But Minho’s words surprised her.

“Please…If it’s the first and last time I will beg you to do…I beg you to give the child a chance.” Said Minho

Sohyun can’t believe what she’s hearing. Her mighty Oppa…begging her? For that …kid?!

“I know it’s not going to be easy…and I am not asking you to love him or care for him…I just want you to give him a chance to be an ordinary child…just let him be the way you treat any kid out there. You love kids…you adore them…I am just asking that you think of him as one of those kids you see outside.” Said Minho

“How can I do that…When His presence always makes me remember Dad’s betrayal…of how he abandoned us?” asked Sohyun

“Maybe he didn’t abandon us…maybe we still have him…maybe Kevin is our way of still having some part of Dad with us.” said Minho

Sohyun felt like her chest is bloating…preparing to explode.

“You sound like you’ve forgiven him…” said Sohyun “How can you forgive that man?! After what he did to us? To Mom?”

“I just got fed up of hating…I just felt like I was always angry and I end up blaming the wrong people for all the hate I had boiled up inside. Once I realized that despite everything Dad did…he’s still my Dad…I saw that he did the mistakes not to hurt us…but because he was a human..he was weak at some point…” said Minho
