After 5 years of marriage, Yunho and Yuri had called it quits - well technically, he called it quits. Who wouldn’t if you’re married to a fashion icon/model/businesswoman/celebrity/workaholic/career woman like Kwon Yuri? Sure he was also an important part of the society being a former Model/Actor now turned into a young successful businessman but if there was one thing Kwon Yuri and Jung Yunho were totally different at, it has to be her being a workaholic. Yes, Kwon Yuri is a workaholic – no that’s totally an understatement - she’s a big damn workaholic and Jung Yunho has had enough of it.

He had been aware of this ‘disease’ of hers and had tolerated it for almost 8 years now because he loves her so much and prayed everyday that she’ll be able to change when they finally get married and have a child but to his utter dismay, she didn’t. They fought about it almost every day but she’ll either shrug him off or walk away whenever the conversation starts to get heated. It was disappointing that the only woman he envisions to spend the rest of his life with, would choose her career over him anytime of the day when he on the other hand, gave up modeling, his true passion, to start a family with her.

Even though they were blessed with a now 5 and a half year old son, Jung Yulho, she never changed her ways and continued to be superwoman. Now he decided to teach her a lesson and to show her who the man of the house is and this is by leaving her. He’ll make her beg for him to not leave her and if she did, he knows, he’ll surely stay. His heart is aching at the thought of leaving his beloved wife but he needs this. They both need this and he’ll make sure that when they get back together they’ll be a better family than what they are now. He only hopes that his plan will go smoothly and nothing will get in the way.

Right now he was at home, inside their bedroom, packing his things and ready to leave.

He was about to shove the last piece of clothing into his bag when the door to their bedroom, the room he shares with his wife Yuri, creaked open revealing the woman of his life. Well not for long.

“What are you doing?” she asked casually as if it was a normal thing to see your husband packing his things when you find him on your bedroom.

She was dressed in a very elegant evening gown that hugs her to-die-for figure with the look that she usually wears even when they were alone – cold and stern. She probably went to that party she was talking about for a magazine. He stopped filling his luggage to take a look at her. She was so beautiful that for a moment he forgot that he was supposed to be angry at her for putting him into this kind of despair but he reminded himself that it was all a façade. She was making him weak with the mere sight of her so he needs to steel his heart and vowed that he won’t succumb to her bewitching spell.

So with that, the sudden admiration in his eyes turned into a glare.

“What do you think I’m doing?” He replied coldly as possible then he zipped his bag before he lifted it.

“So you’re leaving me.” she said and he swears he can hear the hurt in her voice behind the coldness of it. He wasn’t her husband for nothing. He knows her all too well.

She moved towards the couch in their bedroom and sat as gracefully as she could. Her guts irritated him and intensified his decision of leaving even further. He was about to break their marriage and there she was sitting comfortably as if watching a dramatic show unfold right in front of her eyes. He took a deep breath to calm his senses.

“Yes I am. You’re a smart woman Yuri so I don’t think I need to explain to you why I’m leaving you.” He said sternly without looking at her.

“What will you say to Yulho?” she said with an unrecognizable tone but he settled that she was trying to act strong in front of him. ‘Show me your face my dear wife.’ he thought.

“He’s too young to understand our situation but I know, in time, he’ll understand me. I’ll just tell him that his mother chose to be a full time career woman and shoved his father out of her life completely.” His back was facing her while he was saying this so he missed the twitching of in pain as his words struck her.

A deafening silence filled the room. It lasted for quite a while before he heard her sigh.

“Oh well. I guess you’ve already packed everything you need. Do you want me to accompany you to the front door?” she stood up to get near him but stopped midway.

“There’s no need for that. This is partly my house anyway so I definitely know where the front door is.” He said angrily. A normal wife would beg her husband to stay and settle their indifferences but not his wife. Begging is never in Kwon Yuri’s vocabulary and he half expected this to happen but hoped that she would anyways.

“If you insist. I’ll be expecting the divorce papers as soon as you get a hold of one. If you’ll excuse me, I have a 5 year old son to put to bed.” She said without a hint of pain before striding to Yulho’s bedroom.  

When she was out of sight, that’s when he decided to surrender to his suppressed emotions. Tears flowed in his eyes but he didn’t dare to make a sound. Afraid that she might hear his cries of pain, he bit his lips until blood oozed out of his lips. Why is she so cold even towards him? How can he warm up her cold heart? He’s sure that she loves him but, where did their love go?

“Goodbye Yuri.  I love you…..I love you so much.”
