Two MoonsSince the infirmary got fuller and fuller, they had to relocate some of the people and some of the healers as well. Rui and Pýr got put into their own rooms because their wounds had been so severe that Yixing and that other healer had spent hours healing them.
During that time Ara, Hikari, Maél and Kato had found Siyeon in the infirmary and they had taken her immediately. “Do you need something else?” Kato asked but Siyeon shook her head.
They had tried to persuade her to eat something but all Siyeon had been able to swallow down was water. “Siyeon, I know this is hard for you but you have to eat something. Your body is too exhausted.”
He put something into her hand that looked like an energy bar. “Do it for me?” he asked as kind as possible and Siyeon finally reacted to his words. “Sorry, I... you are right.”
It tasted like nothing and Siyeon had the feeling that she chewed on card paper. “How many people got injured?” she asked to distract herself. “I don't know but I guess approximately about 100. Many younger students and non students got hurt, mostly kids who weren't able to protect themselves.”
Siyeond didn't feel almost nothing, which scared her a bit but then again she was so emotionally drained that she had the feeling that she could pass out at any moment.
“I think you should be able to see them as soon as Mr. Zhang gives his okay,” Maél tried to comfort her. “He's right. Don't give up hope yet,” Hikari gave her a bear hug and Siyeon buried her face in her neck.
She looked up again as the door opened and Yixing came in. “You can go now. They made it, barely but they did. But they are sleeping and I don't know when they will wake up.”
Those words were enough for Siyeon and she rushed past the people to get out of the infirmary. “Maybe we should follow her?” Kato muttered, rubbing his head in slight worry.
“Leave her alone. I think we only would be in their way, don't we?” Ara muttered as she sat down on Kato's lap. “Don't say anything,” she hissed as a warning as he opened his mouth. He decided to follow her words and just put his arms around her with a smile.
“Kai looks a bit confused, don't you think?” Hikari muttered as she saw Siyeon pushing her way past Kai and the others without really noticing them. “He does but I think he's more concerned about the other people who are hurt now,” Maél answered and he was right. Kai shook his confused look away and focused on helping the healers as far as he could.
Chanyeol on the other hand stared after her until Baekhyun rammed his elbow into his side. “Stop staring after her like a love sick puppy. I heard that Rui and Pýr nearly died in the fire. She probably is worried as hell about them. They were with her during the fire. I saw them running right after her.”
With a guilty look on his face, Chanyeol looked down before he muttered a silent sorry. “Come on, let's go. We have to help as many people as we can.”
While the others tried to keep the mess under control, Siyeon rushed to the room were Rui and Pýr were. She didn't come all too far though because she ran into someone else.
Kinji's hand closed around her wrist tightly and she nearly tumbled over her own feat as he pulled her back. “Where are you going?” he asked, his voice as calm as ever. “Why do you want to know?” Siyeon asked back, slightly confused why he had stopped her.
He let her go immediately but didn't step back, in fact, Kinji stayed quite close. “Just asking.”
The awkward silence between them grew even more awkward because Siyeon had the feeling that he wanted to ask her something. “How are you?”
And that surely not the question he initially had wanted to ask. “I am fine. What about you?”
He quickly scanned her with his eyes and nodded. “I am fine as well. We have to talk. You have to explain me a few things.”
The change of topics happened so fast and casually that Siyeon nearly missed it. “I... can we talk about this later? I have to go now.”
Siyeon knew what kind of answers he sought, the same as her. Her mind wasn't prepared for any long explanations now and she was with her thoughts far away.
Kinji followed immediately, which surprised Siyeon. “Stop following me,” she said but Kinji rigorously ignored her. “Hime, if you know something, then tell me... Please.”
The “please” came rather hesitantly over his lips but there was absolutely no kind of emotion in his voice. “I don't know anything, Kinji, and stop calling me... Hime.”
It sounded strange to hear the older version of him speaking out the word so casually and at the current moment, Siyeon didn't need anything of that.
“You didn't mind when I called you by that name as we were children.”
