I rolled to the other side of the bed and fell down the hard ground. I groaned in pain when my head hit the floor. I opened my eyes and saw Baekhyun looking down at me. He’s always the first person I see every morning. Is that supposed to be a good thing or not?

He held his hand out. I slapped his hand away by my right hand. Wait, right hand? I looked at it and the bruise was completely gone and it doesn’t hurt every time I move it. I blinked at Baekhyun.

“You should thank me for healing it.” He grinned and walked away.

I sat up and brushed my hair away from my face and yawned. “You can heal?” I stood up and followed him at the dinning area. He cooked for breakfast again and this time, it’s some kind of soup and I know it tastes really good.

Baekhyun sat down the chair and picked the spoon up. He opened my hand and placed it on my palm. “We can. Demons can. Remember? We’re already dead, we can’t die again. We can heal or it will heal automatically if we have fracture or something like that.”

I warily looked at the yummy looking food in front of me. “You’re not going to get the bed back because of this.” I warned before he could say something again after I swallow the food he made.

That is how tricky he is. I should be careful.

He chuckled. Baekhyun heard my thoughts again. Stop it, you!

“So, have you met someone different?” he asked.

“Why are you asking me that? I met you, you’re strange. Conversation done,” I sighed and started eating the soup he made. Wow, he’s really good at cooking. How could he do such tasty foods? I could feel Baekhyun is staring at me again. I sighed. “Okay, fine. None,”

Baekhyun sipped at the water on his glass and placed it back to the exact same place where a circle of water was left when he picked it up. “If you meet someone different and suspicious, tell me right away.”

I froze in my spot when he mentioned the guardian who wants to kill me. “What’s the meaning of that?”

“Someone will kill you before the right time of your death when you will be the 7th demon. So, as your demon, I have to prevent that. Don’t worry, I’m powerful. I can kill that guardian before he kills you.” He sounded too sure of what he said but it just made me feel nervous to death.

How am I going to feel comfortable again if there’s someone out there searching and wants to kill me?

I want to ask this. “What if I get killed before the right time you’re saying?” I swallowed hard.

Baekhyun stopped from eating and stared at the soup. “We will vanish, me and the remaining five demons, we will completely vanish. Everything is going to be pointless the sacrifice your parents did, it will be pointless. As you can see, we needed you to finish the guardian race that is preventing the summoning race which your family belongs to.”

The sacrifice my parents did for me will be pointless…

“So, I’m in the summoning race and I can actually summon demon? And because my parents sold my soul to demons, I become one of you?” It’s finally getting clear into my mind.

He made a sound of agreement.

I nodded my head. I understand everything. So I have to be very careful around me now and besides… I have Baekhyun. Ugh, why did I think of that and maybe he’s reading my thoughts again.

He smiled.

While walking to school, the weather seemed so gloomy today. Is it going to rain? I didn’t bring any umbrella with me because it’s heavy. I looked at my side and saw Baekhyun walking side by side with me. Right now, I can feel that I’m not alone anymore. Before, I always walk alone to school. I’m kind of happy.
