But before Yuri could hug Jessica or even come closer, someone already standing in front of Jessica and Yuri recognize that person is Clara. Clara just gets out from her car that park beside Jessica car. Suddenly Clara pulls something from her jacket and splashing Jessica eyes with this liquid.

“That’s enough with you flirting with my Yuri, Jessica-ssi!” Clara already is following Jessica since couple hours ago, right after she knows that magazine, “Now Yuri is mine!!”

Loud screaming from Jessica, while Clara laughing at Jessica at the ground and holding her own face. Clara then throws the bottle on the ground near Jessica. That’s a rapid liquid concentrate bottle for developing film, if that…Yuri speeding her run and shoves Clara away from Jessica.

“Oh my god! Oh my god! Please! Sica!!” Yuri cradle Jessica who keep screaming while holding her eyes, quickly she scoop Jessica and want to bring Jessica to her car.

But Clara already hold Yuri arms and smiles to Yuri, it’s a innocent like smile and it so wide without any sign of guilty from what she doing even she just give Yuri proud smiles and satisfactions. “Her eye already blind, now you choose me, right? You will choose me than this blind girl, right?”

Yuri about to kick her, if not the fact Jessica needs medical treatment fast. So, Yuri just shoves Clara hand away from her.

“You better run and hiding, because if anything happen will pull your eyes out from your socket and give it to my Sica! You better run now! I will never ever like you! I hate you so much, for hurting my Sica! I’m so fxxking hate you!!” Yuri shoves Clara hands away and run toward her car, drives toward nearby hospital.

Yuri sit on bench and waiting for the doctor, suddenly Boa sit beside Yuri and pat Yuri hands. Yuri just shoves Boa hands from her and keeps looking at the door. Boa just smiles and this time she’s holding Yuri hands, “I’m sorry”

Jessica parents sit little bit far from them and they’re talking with nurse about Jessica condition. Hyekyo crying from the moment they’re arrives at hospital while Hyori take care of police matter for them. Now Boa is with her for god-know-what.

“Go away…I’m very tired now!”

Yuri attempts to break Boa hold but Boa keep firmly holding Yuri hand, Yuri just glaring at all-calm boa which so irking her so much. “Why? Why are you always this calm and collective? Why I couldn’t be like you? How could you keep being this calm meanwhile my head almost exploding and my heart want to burst now?! I’m scared and I can’t even hide it! I’m pathetic that only crying here instead of being calm and stay strong!! I couldn’t even stop my hands from shaking like this!!”  

“You should be happy to have so many expressions instead of this! I really envy someone that has so many expressions because people won’t misunderstand them, unlike me!”

Yuri just let out hollow laughter, “I should be like you, right? I should because I’m your daughter after all! I should be all this android that collected and so calm without showing any weakness!”

There’s something on Boa eye that make Yuri lost her words. But before Yuri could ask her what does that eye mean, Boa just give Yuri hand soft grip and shake her head with serene smiles gracing on her lips.

The doctor comes out, Yuri know something bad happen to Jessica because the doctor expressions and also how she carefully telling Jihyun about the results and how hard Hyekyo crying when she’s looking at Jessica unconscious body.

“The damage on her eyes really severe and she might never be able to see again…”

That word is the only word that Yuri could catch from the doctor because her head already spinning so badly and Boa must hold Yuri from falls.

 

“I want to be the donor for Jessica eyes!” Yuri firmly says this world to the doctor.

Hyori gasping at Yuri decision, she’s holding Yuri arms and almost begging Yuri to reconsidering this choice. Call her with cruel and heartless but she don’t want her Yuri took this decision to ruins her own future.

Everyone knows eye donor really hard to find and it take more than just years for donor. Donor for eyes not as easy as saying it, you must wait and wait. There’s no possibility that they will get the donor after waiting for month, for years, or even maybe for forever. Even if you found the donor but there’s no absolute possibility that you will got your donor eyes. 

Mixed reaction comes from everyone, Jessica still on her VIP room for resting and this because she refuses to let anyone to see her and Yuri couldn’t see Jessica because of guilty. Jessica would crying for so many house and to her sleep, yet Yuri just looking at wall in front of Jessica door and hearing Jessica crying for her eyes.

So in this doctor office there’s only Jihyun, Hyekyo, Boa, Hyori and Yuri. The Jung look torn between relieved or feel guilty, Hyori seem scared with Yuri decisions and she almost begging for Yuri to reconsider this or called this as joke. Boa, as usual it’s hard to know what her stoic face thinking.

Boa who’s sit beside Yuri, she’s calmly looking at the doctor and even at Jihyun and Hyekyo. “I object and I won’t give the permissions for that! You can call me with cruel or anything but I won’t let Yuri becomes the donor!”

“You don’t have any right for that!”

“Yes, I have! You are my daughter so I have any right for that! Without my permission the doctor can’t make you as donor and if they dare to do that, I will sue them and bring down this hospital and even sue Jung family too! I have the power for that!”

Yuri is almost punching Boa face, in fact she already standing and balled her fist.

Hyori holding Yuri and pull Yuri to sit again, “Boa, me too object Yuri decision but it’s not the way you telling Yuri! You will make the problem bigger because you might make…”

“Can’t you see? Sica become like this because of me and I’m the one who should take the responsibility for her because if not because of me she won’t be in this kind of situation!!”

Boa firmly keeping her decision, firmly she shakes her head. “No, you are not the cause of it! Not even a bit! Clara is the one who cause it and the one who should take the responsibility is Clara but we can’t make her as donor because she already ruins her own eyes!”

Yes, when the police arrive at Clara apartment she already pokes her own eyes and according her, “Yuri like blind woman, so if I blind she might pity me too! Bring me to Yuri now, so she could take care of me too!”

“So, I won’t give my permission! Anyone whose dare to call my daughter as the cause of this accident must face me!” Boa authority scared everyone in this room and also Yuri too but Yuri couldn’t bear to watch her Jessica drown into darkness and never be able to see the world again.

“Please…”

Boa firmly shake her head, “No, Yuri! No! Donor, there’s still donor option but not from you! We will search donor for Jessica!”

“How long? For how long we must waiting for donor…but most importantly for how long my Sica must befriended with darkness? For how long?”

Yuri slowly kneeling in front of Boa, “Please…don’t let her stay in darkness because I will hurt too and just let me atone my mistake, I shouldn’t have…everything happen because of me. I’m the one who…ask her to be my lover and if only I never ask her, this will never happen because Clara won’t…if she keep waiting for donor…for how long we must wait for donor and…”

Boa grab Yuri hand and pull her but Yuri too stubborn and keep kneeling, “If you give her your eye, you won’t be able to face her too! Stand up Yuri!”

Yuri is inching closer to Boa, “I can, I can see her even without my eyes, I can see her so clearly inside my heart! Since beginning, I never use my eyes to see her but my hearts! I don’t need my eyes for her, since my eyes won’t even give slightest justice on her perfection for me…” 

Jihyun trying to pull Yuri to standing, “Yuri-ah, don’t do this! If Jessica know about this she will be sad too! I’m her appa Yuri, I’m the one who should gives my eyes to my own daughter!”

Boa nods her head in agreement with Jihyun, “Yuri, she’s right! Let’s talk about this calmly and using logic!” Boa held Yuri hand and trying to pull Yuri to standing but Yuri flings boa from her wrist.

“I’m not you! I can’t be someone like you who all calm and so collective even though I’m your daughter! I’m can’t be someone like you so stop asking me about calm and logic! I can’t be Kwon that all calm and logic like you!”

Arrives at Japan airport alone, in order to search for Kwon Yuri, she is Kwon now. One and half month already passed from her surgery and she lucky she could get very fast donor for her eye but she must stay at Korea for recovery first, she must wait that long for flying to Japan for Kwon Yuri that went missing from her side.

She will slap Yuri face and scratch Yuri face too for sure when she meets Yuri and she will never took break up kindly what more that break up because that stupid little postcard with only one words written over that stupid postcard.

“We break up!”

Left alone that’s Yuri never ever went to see her when she’s still blind because no matter how much she’s crying for Yuri and yet Yuri never shows up. Now, Yuri just breaks up with her using that small blank memo with that writing on it?

That’s Yuri writing and she know Yuri is the one that write it, so she will come to Japan and found Yuri, drag Yuri back to Korea with her. Firstly slap Yuri face about 50 times and maybe kiss Yuri once after that, second asking Yuri about that break up and why she won’t accept her call, third dragging Yuri back to Korea.

Yep, that’s good plan!

But searching Yuri is not easy and she already spent for more than one week here, while walking at nearby park near her hotel. No, Jessica didn’t stay at Kwon hotel because Boa and Yuri might know her arrival and Boa might hide Yuri from her. She hearing very familiar voice that she longing to hear.

But what she expecting to see is not the usual cheerful Yuri, no she’s still smiling happily and still cheerful one but…she’s not energetic again…

“Okay one more time!”

Yuri wearing her black sunglass throwing ball to golden retriever dog, black sunglass and also there’s white cane beside her. Slowly Jessica walking closer to Yuri and Yuri didn’t even notice her presence because Yuri happily waiting for her dog to come back with ball.

Jessica already using her hand to cover , she want to scream but all the shocking truth about Yuri now make her all speechless, there’s something like invisible hand just grab her lung and choke it so hard that make her unable to let out any words. She just slowly walks to Yuri that looking around her innocently because maybe she heard someone steps. 

Before Jessica could approach Yuri closer, someone is already holding her back and that’s Boa with her stoic face and Hyori beside her. Three of them just looking at each other and there’s no words exchange between them before the dog barking toward them.

“Ah, umma! Appa!” Yuri calling her parents happily but she looking at wrong direction, this make Jessica tears slowly falling down.

Hyori utter big smiles toward Yuri even though Yuri couldn’t see it. “Yuri-ah, here umma bring you your favorite iced latte! Let’s go home, umma will make something delicious for you! What do you want for dinner?”

“Okay!” Yuri pretend to thinks before broke into big smiles, “I want steak!”

Watching Yuri walking using that cane and also hand on Hyori shoulder, she slowly crying trying to muffling her sobs and wants to walk to Yuri but Boa still holding her back. “You can’t because she already promises me so don’t ruin her promise!”

Yuri already enters the car and Hyori already drives away from them, “This eye…is Yuri eyes?”

Boa just nods, “She insists using her eye because of the guilty. At first I really object it and almost suing the hospital but she makes me agree under certain condition! My condition! That’s why, with very heavy heart I allow my daughter become blind for you! That’s why you should be…”

This makes Jessica angry, she push Boa shoulder harshly. “What? What you did to make Yuri become like that?! What did you do to us?”

Boa standing there with her calm face, “Let’s talk it at that café!”

“My condition is for her to come with me after the surgery done and also break every little thing that ever happens between you two! Only that!”

 

*flashback*

“I’m not you! I can’t be someone like you who all calm and so collective even though I’m your daughter! I’m can’t be someone like you so stop asking me about calm and logic! I can’t be Kwon that all calm and logic like you!”

Boa let out simple smiles, “It would be better if you really are my daughter, you and Jessica won’t face this kind of trouble! You could date her freely because I will support you in any way that you want! It would be better indeed!”

“Huh?! What do you mean?! What the heck are you talking about?!”

Boa took Yuri hand again and makes her standing, Yuri confused with Jihyun pale face and also Hyori too. But Boa already holding Yuri hand and tugging Yuri to come with her, Boa gives smiles to Jihyun and Hyori.

“Come with me, let’s talk about this…just two of us!”

She lead Yuri to vending machine near them, buying Yuri drinks and makes Yuri drink the warm liquid, hoping that will ease Yuri. “I already told you, right? That you are Hyori daughter but I didn’t say that you are my daughter because I’m not your appa in biological way!”

“So you are not my appa…” Boa nods her head and gives Yuri very mellow smiles, “Don’t tell me that my appa is…”

Boa slowly nods her head, “Yes, you are really Jessica step-sister and your appa is Jihyun-ssi and Hyori as your umma!” Boa held Yuri hand again.

“Affairs child…”

Yes, Yuri notice the way Hyekyo so tense every time Kwon doing something indicating there’s something happens between them in the past because every time Hyori speak to Jihyun, Hyekyo will be very tense but Boa so relaxed. Something indeed happen between them before and to think affairs are the answer is crazy.

Yuri innocently thinks that something happen between them is just about family feud about business or anything like that but…

Again, Boa just nods her head. “I’m just someone that engage with Hyori and we never seen each other before till wedding day and in front of altar. After we get married, she never speaks to me or even sees my face though…but I understand! Hyori used to dating Jihyun-ssi long before she knows me and Hyekyo also someone that engages with Jihyun-ssi!”

“How…when…”

Boa know how shocking this for Yuri but she continue her story, “I guess everything happen when we decide to build our hotel at Korea, we return to Korea and stay here for moments! They caught in the moment even though both of them already married and Jihyun-ssi already has Jessica at that time! You born from their love and so many things happen, that’s why we don’t want you to be with each other, it sins Yuri…”

Yuri is about to yank her head but Boa firmly holding her, she know that Yuri will throw tantrum at Jihyun and Hyori, this will hurt both of them again.

“It’s all in the past now! So many years passed now and everything between them already gone now! Everyone make mistake and what important how they try to never make the same mistake again!”

Yuri showing Boa hands away from her but Boa went to hugging Yuri and softly pats Yuri back, she didn’t even mind if Yuri hit her back. “How in the world could you’re know?!! How could you be sure that they already changing?! They might keep doing that and…”

“Jihyun-ssi is changing to be faithful husband for Hyekyo-ssi now, you already seen how much Jihyun changes now and how much she love Hyekyo now is for everyone to envy of! Hyekyo-ssi mean world for her! Hyori’s feeling toward her also gone, even though the affection still there but their realize it!”  

Yuri stubbornly shake her head and about to run back to doctor office but Boa still holding her, “You even adore her as your appa and they have Krystal as their love. Don’t let something like this that only happens in the past change this admiration! It’s all in the past and all water under the bridge!”

“How could you be this calm and so…”

Boa just smiles, “That’s why I told you, I envy of your expression because I can’t even showing anything or any feeling for you! No one know how sad when I found out about it because everyone think me so cold and ignore her, no one really know how happy am I when I found out that I will have daughter even though she’s not really mine!”

Looking at shocked Yuri, “I’m really happy that I couldn’t even sleep for week but everyone said that I’m still cold person because nothing changes from my face. I’m so happy that now I have daughter and I could shout it to the world but people will see my effort as formality that I do it for show…”

Boa tighten her hold on Yuri, “You are my daughter Yuri, you are! Even though you will never accept me as your appa but you always be my daughter! So please…”

“Please allow me to be Jessica donor…I will accept you as my parents and I will forgive them…I will do anything that you ask!”

Boa firmly shaking her head, “I would rather to have you hate me for the rest of my life rather than looking at my daughter become blind and must waiting for her donor so she could see the world again! Hate me with all you can but I don’t want to see my daughter losing her own future for someone else!”

 “She’s not someone else…she is the person that I love…If you really love me then please…” looking how Boa still keep her ground, “What can I do to make you allow me…I don’t want to see Jessica suffering like that…”

There’s long silence between them, before Boa close her eye and pray for any god that Yuri will decline her idea, “If I ask you to break up with Jessica, never search for her, become stranger to her, and come with me to Japan and stay there for forever without mention Jessica in your life! Will you do it? Will you really do it?”

 

Before the surgery begins, Yuri is looking at Jessica and smiles. She keep looking at Jessica who already fall asleep beside her, trying holding Jessica hand and also trying to engrave Jessica face inside of her. She wants to Jessica as the last person that she seen, but the doctor pulls Yuri away from Jessica and make Yuri face them.

Saranghe…

After the operation both of them must goes to different room, both of them being held by nurse and walking to their own room. They crossed each other, Jessica didn’t know that Yuri just walk her by but Yuri know from Jessica steps and she’s just let out smiles.

Saranghe…

*flashback end*

 

“So, if you really love her please just respect her choice to give you a chance to see the world again even though she must lose everything in exchange for your eyes! She loses more than enough and please stop gives her more wound because of this taboo loves!”

“But I love her and I don’t care if I am her sister and…” yes, she didn’t care! They’re already doing it even before when they fully know that they’re half sister or when they still think they’re real sibling and knowing this won’t changes much now. 

All I want is just to be with Yuri! Why everyone trying to stop us to be together? Why?!!

Boa just shakes her head, “Think about the future Jessica-ssi, what if you two have children and what if the child is sort of mentally challenge? Think about how people would look at you two? How people would alienate your family as well? Think about the suffering that your child will get because her parents mistake?! Think about how the world will see you and Yuri? She’s not someone as strong as she used to be now!”

Jessica already crying her heart out but she still trying to be strong for herself, “But!”

“She’s disable girl now and the last thing that she need is someone gives her pain which you will give her the most pure pain!”

Both of the fall into deep silence before Boa calmly standing and bowing to Jessica, “Please think about that carefully, just let her go just like Yuri wishes too! So, please just disappear from Yuri life if you still love Yuri as loves instead of sister because in the end everything will turn their back on you two and hurt you both! You also, will hurt Yuri more than anyone else because you bring the every bad thing to Yuri with your wrong decisions!”

Jessica still stunned but her hand trembling holding back her tears that will fall again, “If you really love her and wishes for her best, just let her go Jessica! Enough with your father making horrible mistake, please never make the same mistake again!”

Once again, Jessica sit at park bench that Yuri yesterday sit and she hope that she could see Yuri once again. After knowing that she is Yuri half-sister, she really angry with her parents but what can she do now, without her parents there will be no Yuri in this world after all.

She learns to forgive her parent but she will never forget her parents, now she couldn’t see her parents as she used to see them. Jessica heard those familiar steps and also that dog barking.

Yuri indeed comes with her trusted dog and this time without Hyori and Boa. Sit on empty seat next to Jessica and yet she didn’t know there’s Jessica beside her but in very safe distance.

Jessica is just watching Yuri playing with the dog with tears already falling down from her eyes. She lost in her thought for how long she’s watching Yuri playing with her dog.

She wants to touch Yuri, she want to speak about many things to Yuri, she want to hug Yuri and she want to be with Yuri again. But everything seem impossible now, because she couldn’t even move or let out any sound to telling Yuri, her unnie is here.

Yes, her unnie now…I’m her unnie now, not even her noona or her Sica-baby…not her lover and not her wife, just…Jessica, her unnie…

She can’t let Yuri know that she’s here because she don’t want to make Yuri attached to her again and also for her to slowly forget everything that ever happen between them because she’s already deciding to let Yuri go.

This is not decision that she could make just by seeing Yuri, this decision…she keep thinking over night and also her parents plea to her to let go of Yuri…her parents keep begging her to let go of Yuri.

It’s not like she want to let go of Yuri since she can’t but Jessica know how much Yuri sacrifice everything for her to be able to see again, how much Yuri suffering for agree Boa condition so she could see again, how much Yuri trying to be strong so herself could forget about her and if she keep insists for Yuri or if she keep reaching out for Yuri…

If Yuri already chooses this…what else I could do now? She sacrifices so many things for me from her eyes to her own feeling and only for me to be able seeing again…if Yuri already decide to end this immoral relationship…me too, must ending everything…

I want to stay beside her but I can’t look her beside than lover and I can’t think her as my dongsaeng, I can’t…I just can’t because…I love her

As much she love Yuri and she could care less about those taboo thing, even though she shouldn’t do that but all she need is Yuri for her. But in this, they’re not alone and this world not owning by them alone, they live in society that look this kind of relationship as taboo and they will chew both of them if they know about it.

She couldn’t protect Yuri alone from them…she couldn’t and if she keep insist, she will hurt Yuri instead of protecting Yuri. What if someday she couldn’t holding herself and even blaming Yuri for all those insults that she get from public…what if she angry at Yuri too…

Yuri cane slowly rolled and fall to the ground, “Oh, my cane” Yuri bend down and trying to search her cane that rolled on Jessica feet.

Jessica picks up for her and she knows Yuri still thinking of her, because on Yuri cane there’s her name engraves in there. Slowly she offers it to Yuri without letting out any voices out, Yuri took it with smiles and bowing to Jessica.

Yuri bowing to Jessica at wrong direction and that smiles, that’s not the usual smiles that Yuri always have when she smiling to Jessica. That’s smiles just smiles that Yuri gives to her friends.

Will I ever be able to see that smiles again? Smiles that full of loves and only for me… smile that telling world that she is mine…

“It’s time to go home now! Come on, J!”

Jessica just sits at her bench while looking Yuri walking away from her. She’s unable to say anything just looking at Yuri back that walking away from her, slowly getting smaller and blurred as the tears slowly formed into curtain that covering her eyes from Yuri. Curtain that indicating that everything was over and there’s no continuation for her love story. 

“Goodbye…Yuri-ah, you always is someone that I hold dear in my heart…nothing wills ever changes that from my heart…” after saying that Jessica buried her face into her palm and crying alone in that park because after this she will never be able to see Yuri again.

This is the last chance for me to…see you after this…let’s never see each other anymore after this Yuri-ah…because I will never be able to holding myself back more than this…let this be our last goodbye…so there will never be anymore hello for us…

If she see Yuri again, she will…do something that she might regrets because she will tell Yuri that she still love her and unable to let Yuri go and begging Yuri to stay with her again…she want to say this even now, she want to say it but she held her back.

She held, every time she held it…there’s dull rusted blade that slicing her heart, every time she thinking of Yuri and that dull rusted blade will come to slice her heart…slowly infected the pain for her…    

Letting Yuri go as her dongsaeng is all she could do now because she remember what Yuri reasons for not accepting donor again or why Yuri want to stay at darkness.

Before the operation day, Yuri standing beside Jessica who already deep asleep, Jessica need sleeping pills to help her sleeps after knowing that she might never see again.

Carefully she took Jessica hand and kissed it, “I don’t want to get donor for my eyes because it would be better that I couldn’t see her anymore, it would be better if can’t see her with my eyes because I might…loves her more than sibling could give, it would be better because I will conceal my feeling for my Sica with this blindness!”

Letting her finger parted Jessica hairs, she know Jessica really like it when she parted her hairs like this because it will give her heart flips.

“It would be better if I couldn’t see her anymore rather than seeing her but she’s not mine…because she couldn’t be mine since the very beginning! It will be better if I unable to see her anymore rather than seeing her must goes to other arm instead of mine…”

Yuri touching Jessica cheeks, “I’m selfish person…that’s why…if I see that, I might kill that other person and stole Jessica away from everyone else and live together…”

Pecking Jessica lips for the last time and let her lips linger in Jessica for a minute before slowly pulls back and looking at Jessica face with sincere smiles. Since this is the last time she can kiss this lip and looking at this serene sleeping face that look so tired and tore with depressions.

Yuri couldn’t care less about how her parents reaction when she kissing Jessica or anyone with them at that moment, she don’t care because this is the last chance for her to get closer to Jessica and after this there will be no other chance for her anymore.

“If I must throwing my heart because my heart full of Jessica, someone that I love…I will throw it away and live my life for forever without heart because I unable to forget, I’m sure of it…even by this blindness…I’m sure if she near me, I will know it…because that’s how my heart loves her…my heart will always reaching out for her…”

While walking away, Yuri just smiles and that’s smiles different with smiles that she usually give to her friends that smiles is bittersweet smiles but there’s something wets…something wetting her cheeks but she keep smiling and walking away.

There is someone I love dearly with everything that I had... Although I can't be with her now... I'm still in love with her... and I hope my eyes will be able to cheer her up and help her to look for her right one that really for her and won’t give her tears except tears of happiness  

They said if love must sacrifices…

Because when you loves someone it doesn’t mean you must be with her

So that’s why it’s okay for me to be with her in my shadow…
