Where Has Raven Gone?

Description

A feline friend misses his master. He probably doesn’t realize he’s a cat, but indeed understands that he cannot express his thoughts and fears to humans as other humans might.

Characters are OCs based loosely on real people...and er...cats.

This is somewhat of a spin-off of Filial Simplicity, after what appears to be the disappearance of the main character. The one-shot chapter’s title is in reference to the title of Filial Simplicity’s one-shot chapter “Surrogate Warmth”.

Foreword

Hair as black as night, once caressed my cheek. A petite and frightened hand once rested upon my back. At the time, that raven had found its place. Has the darkness claimed what rightfully belonged to it?

I dart my eyes to where the black smear has landed. In the grass, I see a bird. He moves rapidly, as if looking for something. In a moment, he has taken flight, and I notice the oddity of the situation. A raven, come to visit me while I think about my missing sibling. Raven...why won't you come home?
