Narrator’s P.O.V:
You decided that the next day, you should tell your mom about your choice. It was you mom’s day off today, and she was in her room, folding the laundry.
B1A4 nervously stared at you. “Are you sure you don’t want us to come with you?” Gongchan asked worriedly. You shook your head determinedly, “No. This is something I have to do by myself.” The boys hesitantly nodded.
CNU grabbed your hand and pumped his fist. “Good luck.”
You nodded, managed a little “Hwaiting!” and walked inside your mom’s room.
“Mom?” You entered and shut the door, walking over and sitting on her bed. She looked up from the laundry and looked at you, smiling. “Oh, hi honey. What’s the matter?” She asked in her sing-song voice.
You hesitated a bit and she noticed that you had to tell her something important. She put down the shirt she was folding and put her full attention on you. “It’s okay, honey. Tell me what’s wrong.” She cooed.
You gulped. *I can do this.*
“Mom… you know that time on Valentine’s Day, when I asked you that love question?” You began, taking in a deep breath. She remembered that day and nodded, “Sure I do. So, what about that day?” She stifled a giggle.
You continued, “Well, they told me that they loved me too…” You paused to see your mother’s reaction. Thankfully, she wasn’t impacted by the word ‘they’. “…And those people…Are actually—“
“Your brothers.” She concluded with a knowing grin. Her tone was still light and unfazed. You widened your eyes, “How did you know?” Your mom laughed. “Well, sweetie, it was pretty obvious.” She chuckled.
You still couldn’t believe that she was taking this so lightly. “You’re not angry? Or against it?” You questioned, mouth agape. Your mom smiled. “I thought of this when I adopted your brothers. You know me, I always think of every possible scenario of an outcome.” She explained.
“And I found out that I was okay with it. If your brothers truly loved you as men, not as brothers, and you did too, then who am I to stop you from loving each other? Like I said, many lovers are better than none, right?” Your mom smiled and hugged you tight.
“You’re my one and only daughter, ________. I love you, and I want the best for you, always. But you have to choose your path too. And if your choice is to love your brothers, then hold onto that choice and never let it go. I don’t want you to make the same mistake that I did. Make sure that they’re good boyfriends, and will never abandon or hurt you.” You mom said from the bottom of your heart.
You teared up, “Umma… Thank you. For always supporting me in everything… Thank you…” You hugged her and silently cried as she murmured “Shh…” in your ear.
After you left her room and went to go tell your Oppas the good news, your mom smiled.
“Well then, I made the right choice by not adopting them in the first place and just taking them in as permanent residents in our household.” Your mom said to herself as she chuckled.
*I wonder how I knew that this would happen… I guess it’s just mother’s intuition.* She thought as she continued to fold the laundry.
