Second Confession - BTOB http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-Xewm26XdY     ------------------------ Narrator’s P.O.V:     Freedom. He could finally taste it.   After countless days, months, and years of waiting, Lee Chihoon could finally be free once again. He wasn’t concealed behind those restricting metal bars of his jail cell. He no longer ate disgusting meals. Insomnia didn’t bug him in his fear for days to come. He would never be tormented by the threats or disturbances of other inmates.   When Chihoon stepped out of his prison, the sun couldn’t have shined any brighter. He liked to think that God had given him another chance. This time, he wouldn’t mess up. He would make sure of it.   The duration of his stay inside the confinements of that hellhole made Chihoon’s stubborn eyes start to open, little by little. Of course, anyone would be permanently scarred by taking even a 20 minute tour of the prison.   He learned something very important during his stay there. There existed only two ways to survive—you either become the predator, or by default, the prey.   In his cell, Chihoon had been secretly counting down the days until his sentence was over, and he drove himself to insanity. Slowly, he began to question himself.   Why was Kang Hana so important for him to have? Why did he harass her? Did he think it was amusing? Did he think the way he almost killed her with his own bare hands was funny?   *No better am I, than a murderer.* He thought with surprise.   During those nightmarish first months in jail, Chihoon knew that he didn’t belong there. Kang Hana, Choi Hayoung, and the rest of her stupid family would be eternally damned for making him suffer through this alone. He was absolutely sure of it. Even if it didn’t happen, he would make it happen. He’d get revenge. It wasn’t his fault, anyway, because he was just doing the right thing. He’d be teaching them a lesson.   When Chihoon was in still in high school, Hana was the newfound envy of many. At Jido High, when he was still pursuing her, Chihoon overheard students saying heartless things about her in the shadows. Merciless rumours, threats, and derogatory names filled their vile mouths. Mouths that had just said good things about her in front of their other friends to keep up appearances. Lies that were sickening to the bone.   Chihoon thought he’d be protecting Hana from getting even more harassed when he found out about her possible pregnancy. Teenage pregnancy was frowned down upon. He understood that to the fullest extent, because his sister had gone through it. He was there to witness every second, and he knew that it was a frightening and extremely difficult experience. Chihoon knew that Hana wouldn’t be ready for it. That boyfriend of hers would leave her right away after he found out, just like the father of his sister’s child.   And then he’d leave her all alone. Defenseless, helpless, poor, poor Queen of Kangnam.   Inside, in some twisted, sick type of obsession, he loved Hana. He didn’t want her to suffer through all the teasing. He didn’t want her to wake up in the wee hours of the morning almost every second, tending to the baby when nobody else could. No man would be there to help her. No father would share the workload.   No. He couldn’t let that happen to her.   Having a baby only meant more stress on her part. He decided that he’d get rid of those burdens.   He thought she’d be grateful—thought she’d come to realize what a great guy he was. Maybe even begin to love him back. He honestly did.   Chihoon rubbed his eyes from the bright sunlight, hand trailing down until he rubbed his chin. It felt stubbly from not being able to shave for a while. He was mentally exhausted and wanted to just go back home, but he didn’t know where ‘home’ was anymore. He didn’t have anyone to welcome him back from his sentence, at least, not in the country.   And why should anyone embrace him? He was a sick, selfish bastard—a pathetic sinner. He was a villain that longed to be the gallant hero, but ended up corrupting himself in the process.   And then, Chihoon began to realize that he was wrong. So very wrong.   Nobody should forgive him, because had to atone for his mistakes. Nobody should love him or smile at him or even say hello to him, because doing any of those things recognized him as a human being, and he wasn’t one. Not any longer.   Chihoon didn’t want to go to his empty apartment yet. His sister was currently living in Canada with her son, so she couldn’t even greet him back. He didn’t want to go home and feel constricted again. He’d been confined for so long.   The breeze rustled past him as he walked down the winding Kangnam streets. It was quite ironic how he was here, actually. The last time he’d seen this place was through the fuzzy, unfocused flickers of slamming a bottle into Hana’s abdomen and watching as a pool of thick scarlet stained her shirt rapidly—like a flower, blossoming under the moonlight.   He felt sick to his stomach. He felt disgusting. He felt… inhumane.   His usual light brown hair had his original dark black roots growing out, replacing the dye. His face looked sunken as if he hadn’t slept for days. The old Chihoon—basketball captain Chihoon—would’ve been horrified by his ghastly appearance. The new Chihoon no longer cared.   Suddenly, he didn’t feel quite as free anymore. He knew he would never be able to truly experience freedom until he confronted the Chois.   Chihoon shook his head. He didn’t want to think about the Choi family anymore. Hana had never been his from the beginning. He had to get past that, but he’d also probably never show his face to any of them ever again. Although memories of that night were a blurry haze due to his intoxication, he wouldn’t apologize to any of them, even if he ran into them coincidentally on the street. He’d just pretend he didn’t know them, because that would be for the best.   Secretly, quietly, atoning for his mistakes.   It was funny how one bad mistake could change your whole life around, even if you had done a million good deeds.   Chihoon’s gaze was cloudy as he was lost in his thoughts. They were abruptly cut off when—   Ring! Chihoon’s eyes flickered over to the side as a small bell attached to a café door caught his attention. The café had a small stand to efficiently serve beverages outside for busy customers. There was also an interior space, where customers could sit and sip their drinks.   He stared at the café. Actually, an iced coffee didn’t sound so bad, especially in this sweltering weather.   Chihoon dug around in his pocket. He’d picked up some loose change after someone took him for a beggar and gave him a couple of dollars.   He found the money and gripped it in his hand as he walked over to the stand almost cautiously, trying not to make any more mistakes. He had to be careful, or else he’d get swallowed up in an obsessive streak again.   “One iced coffee, please.” He murmured gruffly. The employee blinked twice at his attire, but took the money and thankfully said nothing more. Minutes later, Chihoon was served, and the coffee felt cool to the touch.   Taking a long sip and pulling back, the cold and bitter taste of the beverage made him feel more relaxed. With an approving nod to the worker, he turned around and accidentally slammed into the person behind him.   Splash. In a split second, his coffee was gone.   The person, who turned out to be a woman, yelped in shock. Chihoon flinched, eyes wide, unmoving from his place on the ground. *Damn. Another mistake.*   Her black blouse was soaked in iced coffee. The woman screamed, “What the hell?! I just bought this!”   It felt strange to apologize, but Chihoon found himself automatically ducking his head, “I’m so sorry, it was an accident.” *Accident. A mistake. Kang Hana.*   “An accident! Hah!” The woman scoffed loudly in disbelief, “You’d better give me money to clean this blouse!”   Chihoon raised his head and stared at her, “Excuse me?”   “Is this punk for real?” The woman muttered to herself, “Didn’t you hear me? M-O-N-E-Y. You need to compensate me for what you’ve done—“   “Alright, alright, unnie. Calm down.” A cool voice cut in. Chihoon glanced up, barely interested, as his eyes landed on a female that looked around his age. She glanced at Chihoon up and down, scrutinizing him, but said nothing. Chihoon narrowed his eyes. Although he knew he didn’t quite look presentable, he still didn’t enjoy being judged.   “Why are you asking money from him? He might not even have any.” The female sighed and shook her head, grabbing a wad of tissues from the counter and shoving it into her hands, “Just let him go. He said it was an accident.”   “Why are you covering up for him? Just because he looks like that, doesn’t mean that he couldn’t be a millionai

Chapter 8: This is sweet. I can't stopped smiling since there's too much cheese on top of the cake. Too sweet, but i felt pity for Lay though.

Chapter 8: LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! These stories are awesome! Although I'm really sad about Lay's girlfriend, I think it's realistic since Lay practically never see or talk about any girl before. I love how you write about each of the characters side stories. You really nailed it! Their characters are written beautifully. I can imagine what will happen to the future of Haelo, the life of Hayoung and Yongguk, and I also like how you write about Rina and Wonho's first meeting, it's cute! The way you jokingly make Chinhoo and Saemi meet is also awesome! Absolutely love this!
