Ryota paced back and forth along the empty sidewalk. He checked his phone about a million times before he started pacing again. Where could he be? Did something happen? He would have said something, right? He heard the shuffle of feet behind him and turned around to see Tomoya standing in front of him. Tomoya threw his hands up in a defensive stance before he spoke. “I know. I know. I’m late, but in my defense I had to do some stuff.” The drummer stated. Ryota didn’t say another word. He just slowly walked down the sidewalk with Tomoya trailing behind.

   The studio lights were on, but nobody was inside. “Hey. Where is everyone?” Tomoya asked, as he walked around the recording room. “No idea. Normally we’re the last ones here. Maybe they left us messages?” The bassist said, as he pulled out his phone. No new messages. Ryota texted Taka and Toru, but he got no response. “No response? You think we should just warm-up first?” The drummer asked. “Yeah. Let’s do that.” The two members were just about to warm-up when the lights suddenly went out.

   “Oi. Tomoya did you unplug something by accident?” Ryota asked in a slightly irritated voice. “No. Maybe someone forgot to pay the electric bill?” Tomoya replied. Ryota just rolled his eyes, and pulled out his phone. The light from his phone gave off little light, but it was just enough that he could make out Tomoya’s face. “We should try to find the breaker and switch the power back on.” Ryota said, leading the way. Tomoya nodded and slowly followed behind the bassist. The studio was much more terrifying in the dark. Tomoya held on to Ryota’s shirt tightly so he wouldn’t get lost. The sudden vibration from the drummers’ pants caused him to jump. “Sorry. It’s just my phone.” It was a text from Toru saying that he and Taka had to drop off a package but they were on their way to the studio. “Good. Maybe they can help us figure out what the problem is. Where is this breaker at?” Ryota said as they walked down the dark and silent hallway.

   “I hope they aren’t too mad at us for being so late.” Taka said as he and Toru walked into the studio. “Woah. Who turned off the lights. They must be playing jokes on us.” Toru said. Toru felt around for the light switch and flipped it but the lights didn’t come on. “Ehh, guess we’ll have to head towards the breaker.” Taka said. Taka led the way down the darkened hallway with Toru following closely behind. A thud sound caused Taka to jump. “What was that noise?” Taka choked out. “Sorry. That was me.” Toru replied. The hallway seemed to drag on forever as the two walked down it in complete silence.

   “Did you hear that noise?” Tomoya whispered as he clutched on to Ryota. “Yeah. It came from right up here. We’ll tackle it on three.” Ryota whispered back. The two very slowly and quietly walked around the corner.

   Four bodies fell to the ground followed by the sounds of profanity and screams. The two bodies had the bodies underneath them pinned to the ground as they struggled to get free. “Tomoya, is that you?” A familiar voice asked. “Taka?” Tomoya replied as he slowly stood up. Ryota looked up at Toru, who was on top of him, and rose up from the sudden attack. All four members brushed off their clothes as sighs of relief were exchanged.

   “So you’re saying the power just cut out while you guys were about to do warm-ups?” Toru asked as he scratched his head in confusion. The group chatted away to each other as they made their way to the exit. “Yeah. It just cut off. We thought you guys were playing jokes on us.” Tomoya said. “Well we thought you guys were playing jokes on us when we walked in here and saw what happened.” Taka said. The four members let out shaky laughs as they headed outside in the light.

   Once outside, Taka got on his hands and knees and kissed the ground. “Light!” Taka yelled as he stood up and twirled around. The other guys laughed and shook their heads. The laughter stopped when all of them received a message from their manager. “Hope you guys are having fun on your free day. The power should be restored late this afternoon at the studio. See you guys tomorrow!” Each of them stood their staring at their phones before Toru finally spoke. “Why are we just now getting this message? We all got scared for nothing.” Toru said, shaking his head in disbelief. “So who’s up for a scary movie later on?” Tomoya asked as he looked around at the others. A few annoyed groans and mumbles were made. The three members started walking off leaving Tomoya behind. Tomoya called after the other three as he ran up to them. “I was just joking.” Tomoya said as he let out a chuckle. Ryota put his arm around the drummers shoulders as they all walked off into the sunlight.
