Prologue:

“Sooyoung-ah!” Jessica called from the top of the playground set. “Come on! Slide with me!”

Sooyoung giggled as she climbed up the steps and met the brunette at the top of the slide. Jessica and Sooyoung were friends since they were babies. Their parents were good friends and the girls spent everyday together.
 

When the sun was close to setting, Sooyoung and Jessica sat on the playground singing children songs together.
 

“Hey kids,” Jessica’s father called from the bench that overlooked the playground. “It’s almost time to go.
 

Jessica stood up and pulled the shorter girl up with her. “Come on, just one last slide before we head home.”
 

“Sica wait.” Sooyoung said, gripping onto the older girl’s hand.”I want to say something first.”
 

“What is it?” Jessica asked, tilting her head to the side.
 

“How do you feel about me?” Sooyoung asked.
 

Jessica tilted her head for a moment. “Well, I like you more than any boy. That’s for sure.” Both girls giggled at the statement.
 

“I know I’m only 10 but...” Sooyoung paused, trying to form the words in her head. “I really like you.”
 

“Let’s make a promise then.” Jessica said with a smile.
 

“A promise?” Sooyoung tilted her head in curiosity.
 

“That when we’re old enough, you’ll marry me.” Jessica held up her pinky finger. “Promise?”
 

A large smile was painted on Sooyoung’s face as she wrapped her pinky around Jessica’s. “I promise.”
 

The two girls giggled as they went down the slide and ran towards Jessica’s father.
